We love this look but have frequented some establishments that could be enhanced aesthetically, and functionally, by blocking out some mid-afternoon sun by adding curtain sheers over floor-to-ceiling windows. Don’t get us wrong - we love natural light but one particular brewery was blazing-hot at 3:30 in the afternoon because the sun streamed directly through the windows, increasing the temperature in the room and nearly blinding some customers. Adding simple sheers on curtain tracks would be an easy and affordable solution. And let’s be honest they would probably get more mid-afternoon business which would help pay for that investment.

CHOICES

For the curtain track, you have several options depending on your space. One idea is the 3120 Extra Heavy Duty Curtain Track. Made for heavy applications, this track can be used in lofts or other spaces with high ceilings and is compatible with the 7140 Double Wheel or 7146 Short Snap Carriers. Another option could be the 84004 Ball Bearing Carrier Curtain Track. This ceiling mount aluminum track accommodates smooth rolling ball bearing carriers and is available in white, silver or black. Each space is different so it is important to choose a track that will work for the appropriate application, including the height of the ceiling and weight of the curtains being used.

Each wand (also known as a baton) has a clip-on end for easy attachment to the carrier or curtain and makes the opening and closing of tall curtains a breeze. Not only do they have welcoming bistro tables outside the restaurant, they also have an awning to give their establishment a quaint look. To top it all off, their windows have fantastic, eye-catching patterned curtains hung on curtain tracks. We are unsure if these curtains are on a ceiling mount curtain track or a wall mount track, or if they are plastic or aluminum. Regardless, the end result is very nice!

If you haven't seen this show, it really is quite entertaining. One of the things we have observed over the years is bridal salons have spacious changing rooms but rarely will you see a door. Our best guess is that this is most likely to avoid a several thousand dollar gown getting accidentally smashed in the door as the bride-to-be tries to close it to get changed. This is when curtain tracks come in handy!

The 3118 curtain track is made of silver anodized aluminum with satin finish and is available in either 8 foot length plus 4 foot length or two 6 foot pieces (12 feet total). It mounts on the ceiling and no mounting brackets are required. The 7130 nylon wheel carriers allow for an easy opening and closing of the changing room curtains and works well with the 3118 curtain track. Recently, one happy Curtain-Tracks customer and business owner created a massage room in her home and used curtain-tracks and accessories to create the serene space.
