CUT TO THE TAPE
Hopefully we have convinced you by now that we have the best curtain tracks around, at the best prices. We love highlighting our tracks and their features, but every once in a while we like to highlight one of our accessory products. We’ve got lots of high quality accessories and drapery hardware that can contribute to the look of your curtains or be used to make it easier to install/use them. One of our favorites is wrinkle band tape (also known as Shirring tape), which is a handy piece of drapery hardware that allows you to hang a curtain that is not pinch-pleated, nor has other grommets or hook attachments.
Our white cotton wrinkle band is a one-inch wide tape with threaded loops that is sewn into the top of curtain panels and drapes. We posted detailed installation instructions with pictures in a previous blog. This tape provides a way to attach curtain hooks to a panel that is not pinch-pleated. Using this method you can hang any kind of curtain panel with almost any of our tracks. In fact, it doesn’t even have to be a curtain, but simply a piece of decorative fabric that you like. Our accessories will make a curtain out of it. Of course you will need a little help, including hooks (we’ve got plastic and stainless steel), carriers, and wall brackets.
TRACKS OR NO TRACKS
Lastly (or first) you will need a track. We like the 84003 Ball Bearing Carrier Curtain Track. It can be mounted on the wall or ceiling, is compatible with the drapery hardware above, and keeps a low profile. It is available in white or silver and can be spliced together to make longer tracks. Or, perhaps you won’t need a track. Some of our clients have used wrinkle band tape to help them create fabric cover-up skirts for sinks, tables, etc. Use of the tape is the same, but accurate measuring becomes even more important.
