Curtain tracks have many benefits. They are easy to install and are high quality to ensure years and years of use. But there are additional accessories that accompany your high-quality curtain track and we have made it easy for our customers by offering curtain track kits. In fact, the 84004 Ceiling Mount Curtain Track Kit includes a strong 8-foot curtain track with pre-drilled mounting holes on 16-inch centers for ceiling mount applications. The 84004 Ceiling Mount Curtain Track utilizes smooth rolling ball bearing carriers and is available in silver or white. This kit includes everything you need to complete your project, including: one 8 ft track (84004), twenty-eight ball bearing carriers (2 bags - 84100), two metal end stops (84132). Tracks can be mounted end to end for wider applications, but it is critical to get them aligned during installation. Looking to add a wand kit? Check out the 84114 Kit that allows the overlapping of curtains when drawn.
We know this curtain track kit is fabulous but don’t just take it from us, take it from this Curtain-Tracks customer who says, “Used these for a 12 foot wall of windows and doors that were floor to ceiling so a curtain rod wouldn't work. These were easy to get up and what I loved is that I could slide a huge wall of curtains back to the side with ease using the wand and master carrier kit. These were used at our primary rear access door so we'd be moving them back and forth all the time. Having that smooth glide was a huge benefit in that sort of application. Going to buy some again for our patio door in our new house.”
JUST WHAT YOU NEED
When you are looking for curtain tracks for your next project, whether that be hanging curtains in your bedroom or over your sliding glass doors, the 84004 Ceiling Mount Curtain Track Kit may be just what you need.
As the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak widens and the number of patients being admitted to hospitals grows, medical professionals and hospital administrators are looking for emergency alternatives which provide more beds for patients during this crisis. Whether it’s leveraging empty facilities, re-purposing space within an existing hospital, or building temporary structures to serve as hospitals, many options are being implemented to best serve the public as the Coronavirus spreads.
Distancing, quarantines and isolation have become the new normal. Medical professionals are making do with limited personal protection equipment (PPE). One technique that has long been used in hospitals to provide both privacy and a barrier between patients is the use of hospital privacy cubicle curtains. These hospital curtains are typically made of durable fabric that can easily be laundered and installed on tracks with rollers to provide easy mobility of the curtain as it is opened and closed. Often the fabrics utilized are anti-microbial to reduce the transfer of infection from one person to another via the curtains. This type hospital curtain typically has mesh headers that allow for sprinkler systems to be effective for full room coverage in the event of a fire. Hospital curtains must always be made of Fire Retardant (FR) fabric for safety purposes. Despite any rush to assemble a temporary facility, these safety attributes must always be considered.
Curtain-Tracks.com is currently seeing a significant surge in requests for hospital curtains and hospital curtain tracks to be used in these expansion efforts. We are working with our supply chain partners to ensure that these products are being availed to customers with short lead times to meet these urgent needs. Curtain-Tracks.com stocks some “Quick Ship” curtains in standard sizes that can usually be shipped immediately upon order, along with the track hardware to effectively install the curtains. Replacement inventory orders are being blended into production along with the rush orders we are processing for large quantity orders. The Curtain-Tracks.com team is available to help any medical facility or contractor that needs additional curtains and tracks.

LET THE SUN SHINE IN
Did you know the sun shines approximately 237 days a year in Florida? People travel from all over the world to visit the Sunshine State because they want to see the sun! Exposure to sunlight increases the brain’s release of the hormone serotonin which helps boost moods. So for those who live in states where the sun doesn't shine quite as much as we would like, a visit to the south can help. But more often than not, when in Florida, especially during the summer months, the sun brings glaring light and excessive heat.
The Florida hotel where we recently stayed was designed in a way that a.) allowed guests to enjoy the gorgeous sun, but b.) covered the windows with sheer curtains to keep the glare and heat at bay. One of the areas of the hotel where we really noticed this solution was in the common spaces; the elevator areas on each floor. One particular set of elevators was located on the west side of the building and as the sun set each night, the light was pretty intense. The hotel had a wall of floor to ceiling windows in this area because they wanted their guests to enjoy the gorgeous view, but what they did was cover the wall of windows with sheer curtains. These curtains allowed guests to still enjoy the view without shielding their eyes, but also helped to keep the heat from the afternoon sun out of the area.
This hotel used ceiling mount curtain tracks for these areas as well as wands that could easily open and close the curtains on days when it is overcast and in the evenings. It's a great solution that allows the perfect amount of natural light into the hotel. Well done, hotel interior designers!
CLOSETS, CLOSETS, CLOSETS
We've written several blog posts on removing closet doors. By removing the old doors to a closet, you can create more space and even update the look of the entire room. But what curtain track should you order (ceiling mount? wall mount? plastic? metal?)? For a project such as this, you have options.
BYE, BYE BI-FOLDS
C-T customer John M. used the 85000 CS Aluminum Curtain Track when he removed dated bi-fold doors on his closets. He installed sheer curtains and sent our team before and after picture of the closets. The transformation is amazing! He said, "Worked perfectly, thanks." Happy to help, John! This track is available in white, silver, or black. If you decide to go ahead with this track for your project, don't forget the end stops and carriers!

A LOT OF HAIR
Hair professionals suggest that people with long hair should have it trimmed every eight to twelve weeks. For those with shorter hair, haircuts can be as frequent as every six weeks to keep it healthy. That’s a lot of haircuts! That means hair salons have to step up their game to keep current customers happy with their services and salon and do everything they can to gain new customers.
We recently visited a salon in south Florida and really liked what we saw. This particular salon is located within an upscale spa and is elegantly decorated. High ceilings, beautiful chandeliers and artwork as well as tall windows allowing in plenty of natural light from the Florida sun. The salon is located at the front entrance and the design followed along the lines of the rest of the spa including upscale furniture and clean lines. But what caught our eye is how they covered their tall glass partitions with beautiful white sheers. They subtly concealed the hair stylists chairs, hair basins and dryers, but made the salon feel absolutely a part of the spa. Simple yet elegant.
This spa used the 85000 ceiling mount curtain track. This is a strong aluminum track that is frequently used in hotels but also in homes. The tracks were barely noticeable (again, with the clean lines) and the sheers created privacy and a finished upscale look. A simple solution that serves a purpose and is classy. Well done!
THE IMPORTANCE OF EVENT MARKETING
As a business owner, you may always feel like you are trying to outrun your competition and you may do that by advertising, having a stronger social media presence or by being involved in events. All of these strategies can be effective but when it comes specifically to event marketing, Marketo, a company dedicated to marketing, offers this advice, "In today’s buyer-empowered world, marketers need to seize every opportunity to build relationships, generate goodwill, and earn the trust of prospective buyers and customers. The modern consumer wants more than a pitch when evaluating solutions or making purchasing decisions. Events offer a unique opportunity for them to interact with brands to get a firsthand sense of a company’s focus, perspective, and personality. Event marketing needs to be an integral part of the demand generation mix, and a strategic combination of offline and online events are essential to any company’s bottom line. Every year, trade show season rolls around and those in the healthcare, automotive and education industries (plus so many others) attend and exhibit at these trade shows. For those who have an exhibit booth, the goal is stand out from the competition."
At most trade shows, a standard booth space is 10 x 10 square feet and that's it. To make the most of your presence at a trade show (and the most out of your investment), you want to create a booth that will stop trade show attendees in the aisle and make them want to engage and learn more about your company. One way to do this is to create a frame around your booth space. The elevated look of the booth will attract attention. Then, add the 4108 Bendable I-Beam Curtain Track. This track is available in silver or black anodized aluminum and can be hand bent to accommodate the booth structure. Next, add curtains to the track. Depending on the industry of your business, your other booth decor and the theme of your space, it will help determine the style of curtains to hang in your booth. For example, if you are an interior designer at a home improvement show, you may want to demonstrate the versatility of curtain tracks as well as your decorating style by showcasing curtains with a beautiful pattern. If you are looking to stay within the colors of your company's brand, add curtains that reflect that.
CURTAINs SERVE MANY PURPOSES
Adding curtains to your trade show booth can be beneficial in several ways. They can be pulled back and tied when the show is open or, you can decide to close them if you are having a business development meeting with a potential client. Another idea is to pull them closed after booth hours to help deter any trade show stragglers from being tempted to take an extra giveaway!
Gone are the days of old, boring trade show booth displays. You have invested time and money to attend the trade show to grow your business so you might as well make an impression! Ready to start working on your booth design? Let us know if we can help!
YES, WE HAVE THEM
We often have customers contact us wondering if we carry heavy duty curtain tracks. The answer is a robust YES! At Curtain-Tracks, we don’t just carry tracks to hang up your bedroom or living room curtains (of course we do), we also carry the 6200 Heavy Duty I-Beam track AND the 3120 Extra Heavy Duty Curtain track.
The 6200 Heavy Duty I-Beam track is often used in commercial businesses such as large industrial spaces and warehouses. They can be used to cordon off an area for safety purposes or to divide a large space.
REALLY HEAVY DUTY
The 3120 Extra Heavy Duty Curtain track is exactly that – extra heavy duty. This track is perfect when used with privacy curtains in areas where they receive frequent use such as hospital emergency departments. This track is compatible with the 7140 Double Wheel or 7146 Short Snap Carriers.
If you are in need of sturdy and dependable heavy duty curtain tracks, give either of these tracks a try. We are confident you will love them just as much as we do!
Do your curtains glide seamlessly on your curtain track? If they don't, we recommend doing a few different things.
1. Double check the curtain track. Is to completely smooth or is it bent a bit out of shape? If there is even a slight bend in the track, it can cause the carriers to get stuck and not glide smoothly.
2. If the track looks great, if you have two tracks joined, our next suggestion would be to inspect where the two tracks meet to make sure they are completely even.
3. If they look great, then check out the carriers. It just may be time to replace one or more of them.
TIME TO REPLACE
If #3 seems to be causing the issue, you may just need a replacement carrier. There are many curtain carriers/glides to choose from, including wheeled curtain carriers, friction curtain carriers, and master carriers.
Wheeled Curtain Carriers: Wheeled carriers/glides have wheels that roll in or on the track and they either extend on the outside of the carrier so they can roll inside the curtain track, or have they have wheels oriented inward so they can run on an I-Beam curtain track. Wheeled curtain carriers are especially smooth since the roll along the curtain track as opposed to sliding along the track like friction carriers/glides.
Friction Curtain Carriers: Friction curtain carriers slide into the curtain track or a slot that fits over an I-Beam curtain track. These carriers slide across the track instead of rolling and require a bit more force to move them. They are however, extremely durable and affordable.
Master Carriers: Master carriers are larger and are used on the leading edge of the curtains. Often used in hotels, when these carriers are used in a pair, they two curtain panels can come together and overlap, eliminating any light to shine through. Master carriers are available in both wheeled and friction carrier designs.
At Curtain-Tracks, we offer the largest online selection of carriers/glides so whether you are looking for a 2-wheel carrier, a ball-bearing carrier, wheeled snap carriers, or a button carrier with a stainless hook, or just about anything else, we have what you need.
Each carrier/glide on our website shares the compatible tracks at the bottom of the product listing page. If you still aren't sure what carrier will work best for your project, our team is happy to help. You can even send us a picture and we will do everything we can to help you with your project.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
Pleated curtains. We love them. They add a beautiful finished look to windows and will make all who see them envious of your design style. Pleated curtains have a sense of elegance to them and they allow you to try out some different pieces of hardware that you may not be completely familiar with.
If the pleated look is something you are trying to achieve, rest assured you CAN do it. Just follow these steps:
- Lay out the fabric
- Pinch the pleat in the front
- Fold the fabric into an accordion shape
- Sew a small seam top to bottom
- Double fold the edges on the top and bottom.
There are some options when it comes to drapery hardware. You can use Tail Slides (available in black, white and natural) into the pocket of the pleat. A tail slide eliminate the need for a carrier as it slides on the track on its own. When using tail slides in this way, you will need to use the 3296 aluminum curtain track.
The other option is to use a Drapery Hook placed into the middle of the pleat. Curtains hooks are a bit more familiar in the curtain hanging world. It hooks in the curtain pleat and requires a carrier to attach to the track. When using drapery hooks and carriers, chances are you can use whatever track you prefer, even if that means sticking with your existing curtain track.
