Custom-Made Curtains for RVs

By chessong 6 years ago 6569 Views No comments

Your RV is like a second home on the road, and it should be outfitted with all the comforts of home, including curtains. On RVs, curtains play a more varied role than simply providing privacy from the windows outside. They may be used to partition off bunks or close showers. You also have the option to use them to block out light and/or cold from exterior windows by choosing light blocking or insulating material for your RV curtains.

Don’t Throw Away Leftovers

You ordered 12 feet of track, but only needed to use 10 feet. You don't want to throw away extra track, so what do you do?  Rest assured, you are not alone. Many of our curtain tracks come in pre-set length that you have to cut to fit your space, producing leftovers.

Keeping a Curtain Closed at One End Using End Stops

By chessong 6 years ago 2691 Views No comments

If you tire of pulling your curtains shut only to have the opposite end of the curtains open, we have a couple quick tips for you.  The appropriate method for you will depend on the  type of curtain track you are using.  For a simple C channel type track like the 32124, 42124, or 52124 tracks, you can use a pair of 7127 end stops to hold the first carrier in place to prevent curtain from opening at one end.  This allows you to pull the curtain from one side without the entire curtain from being moved.  This is especially useful in curtains that are used as room partitions for privacy because it allows for the single-handed complete closure of the curtain.

Save Curtains from Handprints - Use Batons

You have just installed new curtains, but the last thing that you want is for those curtains to become dirty quickly. This can happen if people constantly grab the ends of the curtains to open or close them. There is a better solution to this. Use curtain batons or wands to allow for curtains to be opened without hands touching the material.

Shower Curtains to Suit Your Style

Showers are no longer limited to pre-fabricated stalls or head above an enclosed bathtub. Homeowners, spas and hotels are getting into custom-designed showers to fit their particular needs. The down side is that most of these showers cannot use a curtain purchased off the rack from a store, they require custom-sized shower curtains.

Using Wrinkle Band Tape

We have many of our customers inquire about the best options for holding up curtains. There are many ways to attach your curtains to your tracks, but one of the simplest, especially for light-weight curtains, small RV curtains that are not pinch pleated is to use wrinkle band tape. You may also find this called shirring tape if you go to a fabric store to pick it up. It works like snap tape, but instead of using snaps, it uses wrinkle band hooks to connect the curtain to carriers on the track.

Oh, Snap! Using Snap Tape on Curtains

One of the questions our customers often ask is, “What is the benefit of using the Snap Tape”?  Our 3091 Snap Tape works with several of our carriers.  Snap Tape is made with one inch wide polyester webbing and nickel plated brass snaps spaced 4.25 inches apart.  We offer snap tape by the yard in 3 colors:  White, Black or Gray.  It works by snapping the back of the curtain to your curtain carrier or glide of choice instead of utilizing a hook or pin.  It can help you achieve many different design styles in a snap!
