Blood Donation Center Using Dividers For an Added Layer of Protection
HERE TO HELP
The American Red Cross continues to collect blood, even during a pandemic. In fact, there is a critical need for blood right now and if you donate in the month of January, you have a chance to win 2 tickets to the 2022 Super Bowl in LA!
IS IT SAFE
You might wonder how safe is it to donate blood during a pandemic? A Curtain-Tracks team member recently donated platelets and plasma after recovering from COVID-19 and shared that the blood drive center she visited had implemented several enhanced safety precautions. These precautions included all staff wearing masks, taking temperatures upon entry, hand sanitizing stations, laundering blankets between each platelet donor, and so much more. One additional safety precaution she noticed was the use of curtain tracks mounted on the ceiling with plastic curtain dividers between each bed. The curtains were clear plastic with mesh at the top, allowing everyone in the center to have a clear view of the room. Even though each bed was spaced at least 6 feet apart, these curtain tracks and divider curtains added an extra layer of protection.
