KEEP IT PRIVATE
The HIPAA Privacy Rule “establishes national standards to protect individuals' medical records and other personal health information. The Rule requires appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of personal health information and sets limits and conditions on the uses and disclosures that may be made of such information without patient authorization.” While HIPAA ensures the confidentiality of a patient’s health records, privacy curtains ensure physical privacy. That’s where Curtain-Tracks can help.
Our privacy curtains can be found in hospitals, emergency

All privacy cubicle curtains are constructed using fabrics that pass NFPA 701 testing, the most stringent national standard. Depending on the application of the privacy curtains, most fire codes require the use of mesh at the top 20 inches of the curtain. Our curtains feature ½ inch flame retardant mesh which meets NFPA requirements and this mesh is available in 11 colors, although white or ivory are used most often. If you prefer curtains without mesh, they can be made without. Whatever you decide to order for your healthcare organization, rest assured that all of our curtains only ship after they have passed an extensive 7-point inspection process.
ON THE CEILING
Privacy curtains are often mounted to the ceiling using the 88001 Privacy Cubicle Track, an aluminum track with a silver satin finish. This track is available in 6-foot, 8-foot, 12-foot, and 16-foot sections. For larger spaces, sections of the 88001 track can be spliced together for longer applications.
Whatever the space, we have the tracks and hospital curtains to provide the privacy you need.
Several months ago, Curtain-Tracks had the opportunity to work with the Army Corps of Engineers as they installed curtains to separate beds and create an isolation facility for Soldiers, Airmen and State Guardsmen suspected of having COVID-19. The barracks allowed the men and women to recover in a safe environment and prevent further spread of the virus. They used 88001 track which is commonly used in hospital and medical facilities. It is an aluminum track that can be spliced together for longer applications. They also used the 88100 carriers which are two wheel carriers with hook, and “quick ship” privacy cubicle curtains These curtains not only ship quickly, they are flame retardent per NFPA #701 standards and machine washable.

Healthcare is a competitive field and emergency rooms are popping up in suburbs across the United States. Each year, ERs treat 117 million patients and these neighborhood emergency departments help eliminate overcrowding and long waits. They can treat everything from broken arms to more complex medical cases. To stay competitive, they are completely designed with the patient in mind.
Many of these ERs have private rooms for the patients but when it comes to other locations, such as registration areas and medical examining rooms, you will notice that privacy takes precedence. These spaces often have curtain tracks to allow the patient complete privacy in the event the door to the room is opened. In many cases, the 88001 Privacy Cubicle Track is used. This aluminum track has a silver satin finish and is available in 6 foot, 8 foot, 12 foot and 16 foot sections but can be spliced together for longer applications.
Hospitals and Emergency Rooms not only choose durable curtain tracks, they also choose quality privacy curtains. Curtain-Tracks' cubicle curtains are constructed with a triple thick 1 ½ incher header sewn with a double needle Safe-T-Lock stitch, making them practically tear proof. This also eliminates unraveling and raw edges, providing enduring strength. Curtains are typically sewn with rust proof nickel plated brass grommets on 6 inch centers across the header, although customer specifications can be accommodated. These curtains pass NFPA 701 testing, the most stringent national standard and feature ½ inch flame retardant mesh which meets NFPA requirements.
IF YOU EVER HAVE TO VISIT
We hope you never have to visit an emergency room, but if you do, we hope you visit an ER that offers high quality privacy cubicle tracks and privacy curtains.
PLENTY OF CARE
If you live in suburbia, there are plenty of detached Emergency Rooms, Urgent Care Centers, and health clinics inside grocery stores, allowing you to get a Physical, flu shot or even be treated for more serious illnesses. Most of the time, these health clinics don't have private rooms for every single patient so instead, they use curtain tracks and privacy curtains to divide the space into smaller rooms.
Patients "rooms" aren't exactly a rectangular shape so hospital interior designers have to be a bit creative. Many health clinics use our 6100 flexible curtain track because it can be configured easily to fit just about any space. This track is smooth and comes in one piece, up to 164 feet for the standard weight. Our medium and heavy duty tracks are available in a length of 98 feet. The flexible curtain track has a metal spine making it not only flexible, but also strong.
With this track, flexible curtain track carriers can be added. We always tell hospital interior designers that to ensure proper fit and function of the carriers, they should choose the same weight as the track. Once the carriers are in place, just add a hook to hang the curtains. Our 7142 stainless steel hooks are perfect for hospital use because they won't stain or rust.
THE FINAL PIECE
Once the tracks and carriers are in place, privacy curtains can be added. Our privacy curtains come in a variety of colors, textures, and sizes, but our Sundance line is extremely popular for these settings. They are stain and odor resistant and they are antimicrobial and can be machine washed or dry cleaned. We understand that hospitals and health clinics want to create a calming feel in that environment so we have plenty of colors and styles to choose from to ensure there is a curtain to fit any style.
You may ask, "Why do I care about curtain tracks when I am in the ER?" Great question! A clinic that takes time to consider the patient's privacy and create a space that is comforting, especially in a time of need, might be the kind of health clinic we would check out (but only if needed, of course).
If you are responsible for your clinic, ER or Urgent Care Center's design or just need extra carriers for your already existing privacy curtains and curtain tracks, give us a call.
