Enhancing The Spa Experience

Not everyone will admit it, but most people enjoy an occasional pampering, whether that be a massage, pedicure or facial. Spas are easily found and competition to be the best can be quite fierce. As a spa owner, how you actually treat customers isn’t the only important factor. The overall experience along with the physical environment of your spa can set you apart from your competitors.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
When a customer walks in the door, what do they see? First impressions are critical so creating a welcoming environment is key. Are the colors and lighting soft? Is there music playing? Or is the main reception area stark and uninviting? One spa we visited took the first impressions to heart. They had serene music softly playing, aroma therapy filling the air and a friendly receptionist. This spa had extremely high ceilings so they added lovely, sheer curtains that were pulled to the side. Without the curtains, the room would have felt stark and cold and not exactly relaxing. Adding ceiling mount curtain tracks and beautiful curtains softened the feel of the entire room.
SECOND IMPRESSIONS
As if the welcoming reception area wasn't enough, this same spa had an upscale changing room with lockers and several amenities (plush robes and melon infused water, anyone?). They also had individual changing rooms with the same curtains that were found in the reception area. The curtains were very full (no skimping on material going on here) and closed easily on the curtain tracks allowing for complete privacy. Just another touch to make this spa feel luxurious.
