If you are a loyal Curtain-Tracks blog follower you know about lots of way to use our curtain tracks and drapery hardware practically and creatively. You are familiar with how to use our products to do everything from dressing a window, to keeping the mosquitos from biting when you sit on your porch. However, if you are going to really think outside-the-box when it comes to curtain tracks and drapery hardware, you need to be familiar with some items we haven’t highlighted very often: drop chains and connectors.
Drop Chains and Connectors make hanging artwork a breeze
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
Drop chains and connectors are the drapery hardware you use when you want to put some distance between your track and what you are hanging. For example, if you want to hang your shower curtain from a ceiling-mounted track, but keep some open space at the top for steam to escape; or you are creating a retail display window and want to hang signs or design elements at different heights. This system also works well for hanging Holiday decorations, and is an inexpensive way to create a gallery-quality display for artwork. The drop chains can hold up to 30 pounds, but are small enough that they are not visible from a distance.
CHAIN UP YOUR TRACK
For the most flexibility in length, you can order chain by the yard, cut them in the lengths you need, put eyelet connectors on each end, and be on your merry way with either stainless steel curtain hooks or Bulldog Clips, depending on the project. In general, you will need hooks for curtains, decorations, and heavy artwork, and clips for signs or lighter, unframed artwork. If you’d like to have some of the work done for you, go with our beaded chains with eyelets and hooks already attached. These come in three different lengths to allow you to still have some hanging flexibility. Whichever you choose you will have to have a carrier with a hook to attach the chain to the track.
