HIT THE ROAD
If you have a van, camper or large SUV and are looking to make your vehicle something more than just a mode of transportation, such as a place to catch a nap or decent night's sleep while traveling, you might want to consider adding some divider curtains.
If you search online for creative ways to add curtains to your vehicle, you will come across several blogs of adventurous travelers sharing how they turned their van/SUV/camper into a home on wheels by doing just that. Some were creative by using wire affixed to each side of the van, while others used velcro on the ceiling. We are all about being innovative in your efforts but if you are looking for a solid, secure way to cover your windows or divide the front from the back to create separate spaces, we can help.
Curtain-Tracks customers David and Deborah added curtain tracks and curtains to their 1995 EuroVan Camper a few years ago and they used several of our products. They travel frequently and were looking for a way to create a divider between the front and the back of their camper. They used 3112 Curtain Track. It is made of PVC Plastic and is available in white, brown, gray, and black. Customers can easily drill mounting holes during installation and it is flexible for arched applications. They added 3115 Curtain Track End Caps, and 3091 Snap Tape, which can be sewn onto curtains and attached to the 3070 Snap Carriers to create ripple fold draperies and curtain panels (which Deborah made).
Once it was all installed, the curtains were used to close off the back of the van. We think the end result is fantastic and even included their photos in our website Photo Gallery or you can read more about their project on their blog.
OPEN AND LOUD
As much of the US endures record temperatures, it seems an appropriate time to remind our customers of an important benefit of curtains – maintaining the interior temperatures in homes and offices. Direct sunlight shining through windows can drastically increase the temperature of a room. By utilizing blackout curtains at certain times of the day to block out direct sunlight can help to insulate the room and reduce the resulting heat increase. This helps to improve the comfort level of the room, as well as save money by reducing your air conditioning costs and energy consumption.
How many parents use their basement? Some have decided that the basement will be the toy dungeon, where all the legos and matchbox cars can live behind a closed door away from adult feet stepping on them. Other homes have turned the basement into adult space, a tranquil space away from the kids. No matter the use, HGTV tells us that finished basements add value to our homes. Curtain-Tracks is here to help you make this additional space feel like home without breaking the bank.
DROP THAT CEILING
Most basements, even if not fully finished, use a drop ceiling as a cost effective way to cover air ducts and pipes while still giving the homeowner easy access to all that makes a home function. The good news: this solution is budget friendly in many ways. The better news: this solution also allows for easy addition of Curtain-Tracks products. Our 6155 Clamp eliminates the need to drill holes in the ceiling grid, allowing for eventual changes in design without having to figure out how to patch holes.
THE CLAMP PART IS CONNECTED TO THE CARTRIDGE PART
Our drop ceiling clamp allows for easy attachment to the metal parts of the drop ceiling. Our 6151 cartridge allows for the carriers and hooks to connect to the clamp. These cartridges should be placed every ten inches, so do the math before you order, and then do yourself a favor and order one or two more just in case your math skills are rusty. Pick up as much as 98 feet of continuous track with our 6100 Flexible Curtain Track and the rest is easy. You can decide to use the track in a straight line, but you can also curve it by hand to cover that ugly hot water tank, or strange pipe that juts out of the wall at an odd angle.
TO FINISH OR NOT TO FINISH?
Our products might be just the answer you are looking for, even if you are on the fence about completely finishing your basement. If you aren’t sure you will use the space, or you don’t have the budget to go all in, you can still give our products a try. Once attached to the drop ceiling, our curtains, carriers, and cartridges can hide even the ugliest cinder blocks or heating ducts. Our Eclipse Curtains are often featured in our blog posts, and for good reason. They are versatile! They not only block 98% of light (think basement movie theater?) but they also help keep the cold out, and create a cozy space even underground. They are energy efficient and also create a welcoming feeling.
Even if your basement is already finished but perhaps it needs a slight makeover, Curtain-Tracks products can be used to create a more cozy feeling. Our curtains can cover windows to create energy efficiency, or they can cover a whole wall. Or, as we've mentioned in previous blog posts, our curtains can create a moveable wall. No matter the stage of your basement, consider taking the next step to adding more useable and comfortable space to your home by working with Curtain-Tracks.com.
There's nothing like updating your home, whether that home is permanently affixed to the ground or is a home on wheels. Lila T. from San Antonio, Texas freshened up the inside of her home on wheels and is ready to hit the road this summer now that her project is complete! She recently sent us photos of her completed project and the end result looks fantastic.
For her project, she used Track 3110-4 cut to length and mounted it to the window frame with 2-sided foam tape. This is a PVC plastic track and is flexible, non-corrosive, and rust free. She added 3032 end caps, and 3042 glides sewn to the curtain. To top it off, the curtain material has a black-out backing for privacy and also helps block light and absorb sound.
Lila T. used Track 84003-S cut to length and drilled holes to mount to the bottom of the shelf with flat head screws. This is a strong aluminum architectural track that accommodates smooth rolling ball bearing carriers and is available in white, silver, or black. She then used 84134 end caps, 84102 micro carrier, and 4146 pin hooks. She did all of this with two other identical windows.
THE END RESULT? FANTASTIC.
Whatever your project, the friendly and knowledgeable customer service team at Curtain-Tracks is here to help you every step of the way. Lila said, “Thanks for the great products!” Thank you, Lila, for sending us pics of your finished project! It looks great!
After you complete that project using Curtain-Tracks’ tracks and accessories, you may find yourself with a little extra on hand. When this is the case, don’t throw that track away. Instead, use it in a creative way! Here we share some unique uses for that extra track.
A NEW LOOK
How about removing that old closet door and replacing that door with fabulous curtains? If you happen to have extra track, add that across the frame of the closet door, at the top of the frame, or even to the ceiling above the door, then select the curtain for your new closet door. To make the room feel larger and luxurious, add long, full curtains.
Curtain-Track’s customer, Libby, used the Extra Heavy Duty track to make a hockey back stop in her garage for her kids. The track is super strong and with solid carriers, she attached a heavy tarp to catch all of those hockey pucks. Now, you may not have enough extra curtain track for something like this, but our customer service team is available to help should you be interested in starting a project like this one.
How about using extra curtain track to create a puppet stage for your kiddos? Or, create a statement by adding curtain tracks to the ceiling behind your bed and adding curtains to create an accent wall or a headboard. What about creating an extra storage space in the basement or garage? The options are endless!
HERE FOR YOU
Whatever you decide, our friendly customer service team is here to help. Give us a call and we will brainstorm with you and find a use for that extra track (or tracks)! You can also check out our Blog for more ideas.
"Say Yes To The Dress" is a popular tv show on TLC featuring women trying on dozens of wedding dresses. Everything from simple under-stated dresses to lavish, over-the-top gowns are tried on as each woman strives to find the perfect one so they can "Say Yes To The Dress"! If you haven't seen this show, it really is quite entertaining. One of the things we have observed over the years is bridal salons have spacious changing rooms but rarely will you see a door. Our best guess is that this is most likely to avoid a several thousand dollar gown getting accidentally smashed in the door as the bride-to-be tries to close it to get changed. This is when curtain tracks come in handy!
TIME TO CHANGE
There are many curtain track options when it comes to changing rooms. Curtain-Tracks.com customer, Tracy Burke, owns bridal shops NY Bride in Charlotte, NC and Syracuse, NY used the 3118 curtain track and 7130 double wheel curtain carriers in her bridal salon. The 3118 curtain track is made of silver anodized aluminum with satin finish and is available in either 8 foot length plus 4 foot length or two 6 foot pieces (12 feet total). It mounts on the ceiling and no mounting brackets are required. The 7130 nylon wheel carriers allow for an easy opening and closing of the changing room curtains and works well with the 3118 curtain track. Whether you own a bridal salon, a large retail store or a boutique, adding curtains to your changing rooms can soften the entire look of your store.

YES, WE HAVE THEM
We often have customers contact us wondering if we carry heavy duty curtain tracks. The answer is a robust YES! At Curtain-Tracks, we don’t just carry tracks to hang up your bedroom or living room curtains (of course we do), we also carry the 6200 Heavy Duty I-Beam track AND the 3120 Extra Heavy Duty Curtain track.
The 6200 Heavy Duty I-Beam track is often used in commercial businesses such as large industrial spaces and warehouses. They can be used to cordon off an area for safety purposes or to divide a large space.
REALLY HEAVY DUTY
The 3120 Extra Heavy Duty Curtain track is exactly that – extra heavy duty. This track is perfect when used with privacy curtains in areas where they receive frequent use such as hospital emergency departments. This track is compatible with the 7140 Double Wheel or 7146 Short Snap Carriers.
If you are in need of sturdy and dependable heavy duty curtain tracks, give either of these tracks a try. We are confident you will love them just as much as we do!
Clawfoot and stand alone tubs are making a comeback as homeowners tackle bathroom projects during COVID. Large soaker tubs are being ripped out and replaced with smaller stylish, or vintage tubs that don't take up as much space but still provide a relaxing soak. (If you are looking for the very best bathtub available, be sure to check out these selections from Business Insider.) One common dilemma with this type of remodel is what to do if the beautiful tub also doubles as a shower? How do you keep the water in the tub?
One solution to this common issue is adding curtain tracks around the tub. Matthew M. from Washington DC recently contacted us for a similar project for his clawfoot tub and he installed the 4108 Bendable I Beam Curtain Track. This is a Silver or Black anodized aluminum track with a satin finish. Available in 8 foot sections, it can be hand bent making it perfect for this project. Ceiling or Wall Mount. This track works well with 4121 nylon wheel carriers or 3312 nylon block carriers, and 4126 ceiling bracket or our 3082 snap in retainer. Once the track was completely installed, Matthew added the Shower Shield Curtains in Shadow which are antimicrobial, machine washable and have stain and odor release properties, to complete the look.
