is right around the corner and with that comes boating season. For boat owners
everywhere, taking your boat of storage is filled with excitement and
anticipation. Excitement for the many hours to be enjoyed on the water and
anticipation of how the interior looks after a long winter in storage. If
your anticipation turns to sadness because you notice there needs to be some
updating or replacing of curtains in the interior of your boat, turn that frown
upside down because Curtain-Tracks is here to help!
No matter the weather, we have the best selection of tracks and boat curtains around. In fact, we can custom make your curtains to your exact specifications. From our experience, no two boat windows are exactly the same, and because of this, you can’t just shop around for boat curtains that will fit just right. Boats aren’t perfectly symmetrical, so we recommend carefully measuring every job. Our boat curtain fabrics are durable, flame retardant, and Safe-T-Stitching locks in hems and seams. Not only are they high quality, they are available in a variety of colors. We’ve also got liners and blackout fabrics. Choose your fabric and then we highly recommend installing your boat curtains with snap tape. Snap tape affixes the curtain to the track via snaps that quickly and easily release the curtain panel when roughly pulled. Snap tape allows you to easily change the décor, keeps your curtains from ripping and your tracks from being damaged if a passenger aggressively grabs the curtain quickly due to rough seas.
ON THE RIGHT TRACK
Now that you have your curtains, if you find you need new curtain tracks, we suggest one of the most useful tracks for boats, the CurtainMate curtain track, This track is often used in boats and RVs. It is a small track that keeps a low profile, can be bent by hand, and is easy to install. It’s available in White, Brown, Gray, Black, Tan, Dark Desert, and Dark Slate so you can choose the color that best compliments the interior of your boat.
Ready to spruce up your boat for the season? Give us a call at 888-434-7444, and we will help you every step of the wa including custom making your curtains!
ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER
We recently heard from a happy Curtain-Tracks customer who wanted to show us her completed loft space using some of our products. Chantell G. from New Mexico wanted to separate the bedroom from the living space in their loft. To do this, she decided to add a curtain track and curtain which would easily close off the space when needed, allowing for privacy. She used 84003 Ball Bearing Carrier Curtain Track with 84104 Wheeled Snap Carriers for her project and the result is fantastic!
TRACK AND CARRIERS
The 84003 Ball Bearing Carrier Curtain Track is a strong aluminum track that accommodates smooth rolling ball bearing carriers. It can be mounted on the ceiling or wall and is available in white, silver, or black. This track is available in 8 foot sections and can be spliced together for wider spans to accommodate a variety of projects. She added the 84104 Wheeled Snap Carrier which is compatible with the 84003 and 84004 curtain track and 3091 snap tape. These affordable white snap carriers come 14/bag.
The end result – a loft that has a bedroom and living space. She said, “Your curtain tracks worked perfectly for what we had in mind. Thanks for all your help!”
Thank you, Chantell, for showing us your completed space. It looks great! We are always happy to help and love hearing from our happy customers.
Did you hit the Black Friday sales and purchase just a bit too much? Wondering how to hide or conceal everything? Consider creating storage space. It’s easy! We work with customers across the country who want to create a place to store items. Oftentimes, this area is in a basement or a corner of a garage. They just have some “stuff” (holiday decorations, bins of clothing, toys, high school yearbooks, etc.) that they want to conceal so it is out of the way. Depending on the space our customers choose, adding a ceiling mount curtain track and curtains can be a solution for your storage issues.
OPEN AND CLOSE
If the curtains are going to be opened and closed frequently, our Extra Heavy Duty Track is a perfect choice. Available in silver or black anodized aluminum, it has a thicker top wall for added support. It is available as a 12 foot track and cut to 8 ft. and 4 ft. or 6 ft. and 6 ft. sections for shipping and is compatible with our 7140 Double Wheel or 7146 Short Snap Carriers. If you have a drop ceiling, our 6155 Flexible Curtain Track Drop Ceiling Clamp, which allows you to attach the track directly to the framework of the drop ceiling and works particularly well with the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track, is another solid choice. Add curtains to your track and your storage space is ready to conceal your stuff!

According to a study, people spend approximately 420 minutes a week in the bathroom so you just might want to consider sprucing it up just a tad. One simple way to do that is to update the look of your shower with a new shower curtain. A fantastic shower curtain can really set the tone for a bathroom. However, if your bathroom has a tall ceiling, you may be wondering how you can create an elegant look. This is when the Recmar 7185 Beaded Chain Curtain Drop comes into play.
The Beaded Chain Curtain Drops are often used with privacy cubicle curtains to allow enough space for sprinkler systems in the event of a fire. But these drop chains can also help close the gap between a curtain and the ceiling mount curtain track system (like on tall ceilings in a bathroom!).
Available in 12”, 16.5” or 28.5” lengths, the Beaded Chain (Ball Chain) Drop comes with Eyelets and Hook. The brass chain and eyelet is nickel plated with a stainless steel hook, helping to prevent rust or corrosion from water or steam. Another great feature is if the lengths of the chain aren’t the exact perfect length, the eyelets are removable which allow you to create a custom length for your project. And don't forget, when it comes to your shower curtains, we offer custom sized shower curtains in a variety of materials ranging from commercial grade vinyl to fabrics.
Ready to redecorate that bathroom and give the drop chains a try? Contact us with any questions and we’d love to see your before and after pictures!
When you want to add curtain tracks to a large space, like a wall of windows, as a room divider, or in a conference room, you need multiple tracks. Several of our tracks come in 8' foot or 12' sections but you can lay multiple tracks end to end for a seamless track for your space.
STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW
Installing multiple curtain tracks is definitely possible and will look great when finished if you use the right drapery hardware, tools, and a level. Our 88001 Privacy Cubicle Curtain Track, an aluminum track with silver satin finish that is available in 6', 8', 12' and 16' sections, and the 4108 Bendable I-Beam Curtain Track, available in silver or black anodized aluminum I-Beam track with satin finish and comes in 8' lengths, can be spliced end to end with 4128 ceiling splicer or 4130 wall splicer.
ALIGN YOUR PRINCIPALS
If you are aligning tracks without splicers, the tracks need to be fully aligned to minimize the seam and reduce the carriers from catching on a seam when in use. If at all possible, placing the seam of the curtain tracks as close to the middle of the space as possible where the curtains meet will help minimize the carriers catching on the track.
NOT SO GREAT
Companies often boast that open work spaces allow for open communication and collaboration among team members but recent studies show it does just the opposite. An article recently published in Forbes states that, "31% of employees in open offices say they hold back their true thoughts and opinions while on calls in the office because they don’t want co-workers to hear and judge them." It also shares "1 in 8 (13%) of open office workers in the U.S. feel that their company’s office layout has pushed them to consider leaving their job and feel resentful towards more senior staff with private offices." Also, 1 in 3 workers feel distractions and noise from open work spaces hinder their productivity, while 1 in 6 say it hinders creativity as well. These are staggering statistics. So if your company office is an open work space, what are you to do?
BUILD A WALL
Constructing walls to create individual offices may not be realistic, or even within budget. But a simple solution to create private areas in an open office space is to install curtain tracks and eclipse curtains to create curtain "walls". Eclipse curtains help absorb sound so these curtain walls can be used to create smaller "phone booth" spaces so employees can speak with clients or customers and not feel like their conversation is being overheard by the entire office. Curtain walls can also be used to create conference rooms or huddle spaces. The beauty of creating these walls is when there is a need for an all-office meeting, simply pull the curtain walls back and open up the entire office space again.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED
Creating curtain walls may just be the answer your employees are looking for and Curtain-Tracks can help! We have the largest selection of online curtain tracks, hardware, accessories and curtains and our friendly customer service team will hep you through the entire project.
If you have a teenager, then you may notice they typically crave privacy and will often spend hours upon hours in their bedrooms. You may also be familiar with ever changing moods. (If not, congratulations!) With the amount of time they spend in their rooms and as often as their moods change, so may their design preferences when it comes to their bedrooms. If you have a teenager that is constantly asking if they can paint their room, get new bedroom furniture, and rearrange everything in their space. There is a compromise - make a simple update.
We came across this article on 28 Design Ideas For Upgrading Your Teen’s Bedroom but if you don’t want to read through all of these tips, here are a few we think you might like.
- Rearranging furniture in a bedroom costs nothing but shows your teenager you are willing to be a bit flexible. Go ahead and move that dresser near the window or allow them to put their bed on an angle.
- Freshen up a room by purchasing new light fixtures or lamps, replacing a ceiling fan or changing out artwork. You can even add removable cling design elements to walls. Updating the general "theme" of a room can make it feel like an entirely new space.
- Add new window treatments! Replace those old curtains with new, fun ones to match the other updates. Window treatments can tie the entire room together.
Large home stores can help with the first two areas and Curtain-Tracks is pleased to help with the last. We have the largest online selection of curtain tracks so you can find the best track for the project. Whether you are looking for a wall mount track or a ceiling mount track, we have what you need, along with all the accessories such as end stops, carriers and even curtains.
LOOK AT THAT SMILE
Keeping your teenager happy can be tough but being a bit flexible in the bedroom redecorating department may just earn you some brownie points and maybe even an extra smile.
As the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak widens and the number of patients being admitted to hospitals grows, medical professionals and hospital administrators are looking for emergency alternatives which provide more beds for patients during this crisis. Whether it’s leveraging empty facilities, re-purposing space within an existing hospital, or building temporary structures to serve as hospitals, many options are being implemented to best serve the public as the Coronavirus spreads.
Distancing, quarantines and isolation have become the new normal. Medical professionals are making do with limited personal protection equipment (PPE). One technique that has long been used in hospitals to provide both privacy and a barrier between patients is the use of hospital privacy cubicle curtains. These hospital curtains are typically made of durable fabric that can easily be laundered and installed on tracks with rollers to provide easy mobility of the curtain as it is opened and closed. Often the fabrics utilized are anti-microbial to reduce the transfer of infection from one person to another via the curtains. This type hospital curtain typically has mesh headers that allow for sprinkler systems to be effective for full room coverage in the event of a fire. Hospital curtains must always be made of Fire Retardant (FR) fabric for safety purposes. Despite any rush to assemble a temporary facility, these safety attributes must always be considered.
Curtain-Tracks.com is currently seeing a significant surge in requests for hospital curtains and hospital curtain tracks to be used in these expansion efforts. We are working with our supply chain partners to ensure that these products are being availed to customers with short lead times to meet these urgent needs. Curtain-Tracks.com stocks some “Quick Ship” curtains in standard sizes that can usually be shipped immediately upon order, along with the track hardware to effectively install the curtains. Replacement inventory orders are being blended into production along with the rush orders we are processing for large quantity orders. The Curtain-Tracks.com team is available to help any medical facility or contractor that needs additional curtains and tracks.

STUFF, STUFF and MORE STUFF
As Christmas decorations are put away you may notice that you seem to have more stuff now than you did at the beginning of December. Perhaps you’re not ready to get rid of some of these items. Maybe some items hold a sentimental value or perhaps you just want to hold onto stuff because you will use it again. What do you do if you just don’t have enough storage for your stuff? Create it!
We work with a lot of customers who create storage in various areas of their home, in the basement, the garage, classrooms, or a corner of a room. One customer even created an extra pantry in their home. Wherever you want to create your new storage space, curtain tracks is here to help.
There are many options when it comes to the type of curtain track you use. For heavier applications and for curtains that will be opened and closed on a frequent basis, consider the Extra Heavy Duty Curtain Track. This track is available in silver or black anodized aluminum and it has a thicker top wall for added support. The Extra Heavy Duty Track is available as a 12 foot track and cut to 8 ft. and 4 ft. or 6 ft. and 6 ft. sections. It is compatible with our 7140 Double Wheel or 7146 Short Snap Carriers. For storage areas created in spaces with curves or angles, the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track is a great choice. This flexible track can be ceiling or wall mounted and used for straight applications or bent by hand for curved applications. Once you have your tracks installed, just add curtains and your storage space is ready to go.
Creating extra storage space doesn’t have to be difficult. Start by selecting your space then look for the materials needed, like curtain tracks, end stops, carriers and curtains, to complete the project. Creating a space in your home or office to conceal extra items is a snap!
Investments in home improvement projects have skyrocketed over the past 12 months due to people staying home. With budgets accustomed to trips, concerts, plays, movies, gym memberships, and dining out, that money is being spent elsewhere. Bathroom remodels, creating living space in an unfinished basement, kitchen upgrades, pool installations, and adding a screened-in porch or four seasons room are just some of the common projects taking place. In fact, one study shows home extensions and additions jumped 52% compared to a year ago.
For this article, we wanted to talk about screened-in porches and four seasons’ rooms. These spaces that are connected to the home, offer a taste of the outside while still being protected from the elements. Once these rooms are built, depending on the structure and if there are windows or just screens surrounding the room, curtains can come into play. Curtains add a feature that not only can complete the look of a room but can also protect against weather. For a screened-in porch, adding curtain tracks, like the 42124 Ceiling Mount Curtain Track or the 3118 Aluminum Ceiling Mount Track and curtains that are weatherproof, can keep rain from blowing in through the screens and saturating the furniture. As soon as the storm blows through, open the curtains and enjoy your screened-in porch immediately (no need to wait for that furniture to dry out)!
For four seasons rooms with windows surrounding the space, curtains can again, add a finishing touch to the room and allow the design of the home to flow naturally onto the added bonus room. The problem with a room that is surrounded by windows, a space like this can become quite hot in the middle of the summer. Having curtains that can be drawn closed mid-afternoon, will help keep the space much cooler. Not only that, but curtains can also allow for privacy.

FUN IN THE CITY
Urban living is increasingly on the rise. Living in an apartment or condo in the heart of the city often provides a variety of restaurants, exciting nightlife and fulfilling sports and cultural activities. Twenty and thirty-somethings (and even empty nesters) are often drawn to this exciting lifestyle but the high cost of urban living might mean having a roommate (or two, or three….) If that’s the case and you are short on privacy, consider adding temporary walls (aka curtains) to your living space.
A LITTLE BIT OF PRIVACY
Curtain walls can create privacy when needed such as sleeping spaces or small bedrooms, or they can be pulled back to open up the space. Party, anyone? Our ceiling mounted curtain track kit is a perfect solution. Our ceiling mount curtain track kit comes with everything you need for your project including curtain track, ball-bearing carriers, and end stops for a strong 8-foot curtain track. And, for this track, you don’t need brackets. The track has pre-drilled mounting holes on 16-inch centers so it can be installed directly into the ceiling (which will save you even more space). The curtain track and drapery hardware are available in silver and white, and the super-smooth ball-bearing carriers are quiet so you won’t wake your roommate who might be sleeping in.Just add some fun or funky curtains! If you want to improve the curtain opening and closing and make it even easier, consider adding a Master Carrier and Wand Kit.

TIME TO RELAX
Have you ever enjoyed a vacation at a resort or a hotel where they had beautiful cabanas by the pool or beach that you could rent for the day? Oftentimes, these cabanas are equipped with furnishings such as comfortable chaise lounges, a refrigerator, ceiling fan, and sometimes even a TV. Another feature that makes these cabanas so luxurious are the privacy curtains. A wait staff comes by to take your drink orders as you relax by the pool in your private space. Ahhhh, sounds amazing, doesn't it?
On a recent visit to Marco Island, Florida, we noticed a resort used ceiling curtain tracks like the 42124 curtain track, curtains in an aqua color, and a wand so the curtains would easily glide along the track. Guests could close the curtains for privacy or if they wanted to take a siesta. Don't get us wrong, we love the extra comfy cushions on the lounges in these cabanas. They are quite appealing. But the curtain tracks and curtains and being able to create that element of privacy and seclusion, makes the cabana rental daily rates a little bit more bearable.
CREATE YOUR OWN CABANA SPACE
We have many customers who use our tracks in their backyard to create their own private space. One customer in Florida added curtains to her lanai which helped block out the sun during peak hours of the day and also gave them privacy if they desired. Another customer added curtain tracks and billowing white curtains around his pergola. Curtain tracks are also useful on gazebos as well as in sunrooms and four season rooms.
Tell us: have you ever seen one of the cabanas that can be rented for a day? If you have, have you ever indulged yourself and rented one?
TO COVER OR NOT TO COVER... THAT IS THE QUESTION
There is the ongoing debate on whether or not you should cover your curtain tracks. Whether your curtain tracks are wall-mounted or ceiling mounted, our tracks look great uncovered. However, should you decide to cover your tracks, what are some options?
You will notice that most hotels use curtain tracks above their windows and oftentimes they are ceiling mounted. Most come with a wand so they can easily be opened and closed allowing the carriers to glide smoothly along the track. You will also notice that in most hotels, there is a valance of some sort concealing the curtain track like this hotel in Houston, Texas. We believe the reason they do this is to enhance the décor of the room. We have seen valances made of the same fabric as the curtains, wood valances made with intricate trim, and valances that have a fabric mounted over a frame (cornice box) so it gives a clean sleek look. In fact, we even wrote a post on how to build a cornice box so it fits over the track to hide the hardware even when the curtains are open. Every hotel has a different style.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE?
When you decide to use a curtain track, you should consider what the look is you are going for in the room? If you love a simple style and want the focus to be on your curtains alone, then there is no need to add a valance unless you feel it is an important design element for your room. On the other hand, if you prefer clean lines, perhaps you may want to build a wood valance with crisp trim.
If you decide to add a valance, what style will you choose? Fabric? Wood? Fabric mounted on a frame? We would love to hear your thoughts. Let us know what style you prefer in the comments. If you are still searching for ideas, visit our Photo Gallery for dozens of design ideas.
