Restaurant Party Rooms
CELEBRATE
Restaurants are pretty popular places for significant events like celebrating a milestone birthday or popping the question to your fiancé. Restaurants are also great for hosting larger events such as a work meeting or company holiday party. But if you are a restaurant owner and do not have a separate designated room or large space for such events, how can you still appeal to the event planner and convince them that your restaurant can indeed host a large group?
INNOVATIVE
Dividing a room to create smaller spaces is a popular concept in office spaces but can also be extremely effective in the restaurant industry. In fact, we recently encountered a restaurant that did just that-used curtain tracks and beautiful curtains to close off a large room so they could host an event. If you think this seems like an easy solution, you're right. Placing a sturdy curtain track on the ceiling and adding gorgeous curtains can soften the look of a room when the curtains are pulled back but will also divide a space when the curtains are pulled closed.
TOP QUALITY
The Industrial Roller Track is a solid option for a project like this. Sold in 16 foot lengths, it’s compatible with a wide range of mounting hardware, trolleys, and end stops. This 16 Gauge Galvanized Steel track is constructed with a safety flange to help guide trolleys safely when the curtain is pulled. It’s also beveled on the ends for splicing and adjoining multiple pieces. The Industrial Roller Track can support loads up to 100 pounds per linear when the weight is distributed evenly. This means you can have lush, gorgeous drapery on these tracks, creating an impressive statement in your restaurant.

A NEW LOOK
How about removing that old closet door and replacing that door with fabulous curtains? If you happen to have extra track, add that across the frame of the closet door, at the top of the frame, or even to the ceiling above the door, then select the curtain for your new closet door. To make the room feel larger and luxurious, add long, full curtains.
GAME TIME!
Curtain-Track’s customer, Libby, used the Extra Heavy Duty track to make a hockey back stop in her garage for her kids. The track is super strong and with solid carriers, she attached a heavy tarp to catch all of those hockey pucks. Now, you may not have enough extra curtain track for something like this, but our customer service team is available to help should you be interested in starting a project like this one.

Cover Your Tracks With Snap Tape
WHAT IS IT?
Have you ever wondered how you should use snap tape? This blog post will cover all of the bases so you can get started on your next window treatment project. Snap tape is sewn onto curtains to attach various snap carriers and is commonly used for ripple fold draperies and curtain panels. It has a 1" wide polyester webbing and nickel plated brass snaps placed 4.25 inches apart and attaches to the back of the curtain panel. Once sewn onto the back of the curtain, it snaps to your curtain carrier or glide of choice. The photo below shows a ripple fold curtain using 3091 snap tape, 7120 snap carriers and the 52124 curtain track.
3091 Snap Tape - sold by the yard or available in a 100 yard roll, is available in white, black or gray. There are many benefits to using snap tape but the most notable benefit is it allows for easy removal of the curtains from the drapery hardware for easy cleaning of the curtains.
COVER YOUR CARRIERS OR TRACK
If you want to cover your carriers, just sew the snap tape 1/4" from the top of the curtain header. If you want to cover the hardware and the track, bring the snap tape even lower on the curtain panel. When using the 3091 snap tape, we suggest placing the first snap approximately 1" from the side of the curtain like the photo below.
If you have questions on how to use snap tape on your next project, our team at Curtain-Tracks can help you achieve the look you are looking for!
Covering A Wall Of Windows
LET THE SUN SHINE IN
Did you know the sun shines approximately 237 days a year in Florida? People travel from all over the world to visit the Sunshine State because they want to see the sun! Exposure to sunlight increases the brain’s release of the hormone serotonin which helps boost moods. So for those who live in states where the sun doesn't shine quite as much as we would like, a visit to the south can help. But more often than not, when in Florida, especially during the summer months, the sun brings glaring light and excessive heat.
DOWN SOUTH
The Florida hotel where we recently stayed was designed in a way that a.) allowed guests to enjoy the gorgeous sun, but b.) covered the windows with sheer curtains to keep the glare and heat at bay. One of the areas of the hotel where we really noticed this solution was in the common spaces; the elevator areas on each floor. One particular set of elevators was located on the west side of the building and as the sun set each night, the light was pretty intense. The hotel had a wall of floor to ceiling windows in this area because they wanted their guests to enjoy the gorgeous view, but what they did was cover the wall of windows with sheer curtains. These curtains allowed guests to still enjoy the view without shielding their eyes, but also helped to keep the heat from the afternoon sun out of the area.
THE SOLUTION
This hotel used ceiling mount curtain tracks for these areas as well as wands that could easily open and close the curtains on days when it is overcast and in the evenings. It's a great solution that allows the perfect amount of natural light into the hotel. Well done, hotel interior designers!
Tips To Update A Living Room
When it comes to updating a room, there are several steps you can take. Some changes can be pretty major, like purchasing all new furniture, while other updates don't have to be, such as adding new accessories. If you are ready for a change, check out some of the suggestions below. We hope these ideas help you create a fabulous mini-makeover in your living room!
DECLUTTER
Have you heard of the KonMari Method? It is inspired by professional organizer Maire Kondo and encourages minimalism with the idea to "help more people live a life that sparks joy". The end goal - "Tidy your space, transform your life." So before you take that first step to check out new paint colors or shopping online for new furniture, step back and take a look at the room you are looking to update. If it needs some decluttering, start there first. After all, a cluttered room with a few updates is still just a cluttered room.
COLOR
An easy way to transform the look of a room is to update the color on the walls. This year's Color of The Year is Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue. This color is elegant and simple but to some, painting all of the walls of a room in this color may be too much. You may want to consider painting an accent wall in this color (or any color of your choice). An accent wall can create a sense of architecture and a focal point. A good rule of thumb is to paint an accent wall 2 shades darker than the other walls. Whether you paint all the walls of your room or just an accent wall, a new color will refresh the space.
AREA RUGS
An area rug can do wonders by adding dimension to a room. Round, rectangular, square, so many sizes and options! Place the rug under your furniture to create a spacious feel and if you have hardwood or laminate flooring, an area rug can help protect it from damage. To learn how to pick the best rug for your space, check out this handy guide from Lowe's.
WINDOW TREATMENTS
You knew we were going to mention window treatments! Windows are often forgotten when a room is being updated. Don't do it! Not only are curtains functional, they also create privacy and add character to a room. Strong and durable curtain tracks, hardware and accessories and high-quality curtains, can all be found in one place - www.curtain-tracks.com. Plus you have the added benefit of working with a friendly, knowledgeable customer service team who can walk you through your project.
REARRANGE
Moving furniture and accessories around a room can create an entirely new perspective. Pull the couch away from the wall, switch out the artwork, put the area rug on an angle. Simple changes can revitalize the room and make it seem new and welcoming.
Whatever changes you make, we hope you love them. Happy decorating!

Traveling Safely
UP, UP AND AWAY
As people return to travelling on airplanes, there are several safety precautions many airlines are taking to ensure the safety of their guests and staff. Everyone on the plane is required to wear a face masks and upon boarding, many airlines will give travelers wipes for their area to ensure their seat and tray tables are clean. Beverage and snack services are suspended on many airlines to ensure masks stay on all passengers for the entire duration of the flight. Another safety measure that some airlines use is closing the curtain in the galley when in flight. The galley is where flight attendants would prepare beverages but also congregate with other flight attendants. You may notice on your next flight that this curtain gets closed on more frequently to allow flight attendants a short break and to further distance themselves from others.
BEHIND THE CURTAINS
The galley curtains and curtains dividing first class from the main cabin are attached to the ceiling of the airplane on current tracks. There are a couple tracks that could be used for these applications. The 3120 Heavy Duty Curtain Track is perfect for the space between first class and the main cabin as these curtains get opened and closed frequently. The 6100 Flexible Curtain Track is an excellent option for spaces that need a track that can be slightly bent to accommodate the space.
CHECK IT OUT
On your next flight, be sure to check out the additional safety precautions and share in the comments any additional measures that take place on your next flight. We look forward to the day when we can all travel without the worry of COVID-19.
Changing Room Curtains For An Upscale Experience
For many months, retail stores have taken extra safety precautions to protect customers from COVID-19. Now, according to the CDC, with a total of 161,473,715 Americans fully vaccinated, or 48.6 percent of the country's population, the same retail stores are starting to relax some of those precautions, including opening their dressing rooms back up to customers. Yea!
Depending on the store, when it comes to retail design, you might see hard structure walls and doors with locks. For more upscale boutiques or stores with unique design, you might see dressing rooms that have lush curtains rather than doors. One particular national chain in Chicago does just that – they use thick curtains for their changing rooms. They added hooks to the edges of the curtains so the customer can secure the panels as they would a door. The curtain is attached to the ceiling with a ceiling mount curtain track and uses carriers that provide a seamless opening and closing. This type of design provides an upscale feel.
Ceiling mount curtain tracks are designed to be mounted by either being screwed directly into the ceiling through mounting holes or attached directly to the ceiling with ceiling mount hardware. This hardware can include clips, clamps, brackets, or retainers. The 52124 Ceiling Mount Curtain Track is a solid option for this type of retail project. This track is an aluminum track with silver satin finish that will not rust. Depending on the height of the ceilings, the 6200 Heavy Duty I Beam Track is another great choice. This track can be mounted to the wall or the ceiling and is super strong to hold even the most plush curtains.
Bridal salons also often use curtains for their dressing room spaces. As brides-to-be try on their dream gown, many of these bridal boutiques put them in a room that is much larger than a standard dressing room to accommodate the many dresses in various shapes and materials. Rather than using a cold, harsh door, you will see beautiful curtains. They soften the space and create an elegant feel – just what every bride deserves.
The next time you take a few moments to try on clothing in a store, take note of the dressing room situation. You might just see some curtain tracks and beautiful curtains instead of walls and doors. These quality, durable curtain tracks will last for years.
