PLENTY OF CARE
If you live in suburbia, there are plenty of detached Emergency Rooms, Urgent Care Centers, and health clinics inside grocery stores, allowing you to get a Physical, flu shot or even be treated for more serious illnesses. Most of the time, these health clinics don't have private rooms for every single patient so instead, they use curtain tracks and privacy curtains to divide the space into smaller rooms.
Patients "rooms" aren't exactly a rectangular shape so hospital interior designers have to be a bit creative. Many health clinics use our 6100 flexible curtain track because it can be configured easily to fit just about any space. This track is smooth and comes in one piece, up to 164 feet for the standard weight. Our medium and heavy duty tracks are available in a length of 98 feet. The flexible curtain track has a metal spine making it not only flexible, but also strong.
With this track, flexible curtain track carriers can be added. We always tell hospital interior designers that to ensure proper fit and function of the carriers, they should choose the same weight as the track. Once the carriers are in place, just add a hook to hang the curtains. Our 7142 stainless steel hooks are perfect for hospital use because they won't stain or rust.
THE FINAL PIECE
Once the tracks and carriers are in place, privacy curtains can be added. Our privacy curtains come in a variety of colors, textures, and sizes, but our Sundance line is extremely popular for these settings. They are stain and odor resistant and they are antimicrobial and can be machine washed or dry cleaned. We understand that hospitals and health clinics want to create a calming feel in that environment so we have plenty of colors and styles to choose from to ensure there is a curtain to fit any style.
You may ask, "Why do I care about curtain tracks when I am in the ER?" Great question! A clinic that takes time to consider the patient's privacy and create a space that is comforting, especially in a time of need, might be the kind of health clinic we would check out (but only if needed, of course).
If you are responsible for your clinic, ER or Urgent Care Center's design or just need extra carriers for your already existing privacy curtains and curtain tracks, give us a call.
Older homes, while having a ton of character and architectural detail, often have small closets and a lack of storage in the kitchen. The reasoning behind the lack of space in these older homes is because at the time, individuals did not own a lot of clothing or have excess food to store. This means these fantastic looking homes need a little modern improvisation when it comes to creating space, like a pantry. Rest assured, creating a space for a pantry is easier than you may think.
To create a pantry, find a small space in your home. The space doesn't necessarily need to be in the kitchen, it can be in a corner in a rarely used dining room, a section in the basement or even in the garage. Once you select your location, buy shelving units to accommodate your items. Use varying heights for your shelves which will help you maximize your space allowing for storage for tall cereal boxes and smaller spaces for canned goods. You can find a variety of shelving units at Home Depot, Lowe’s or The Container Store.
Once you have your shelves put together, add the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track. This flexible curtain track allows for long continuous lengths for curved or angled applications, but can also be used for straight applications. It can be bent by hand to fit your space, meaning it works for even corner spaces. Once you have your track installed, purchase carriers like the 6111 Flexible Curtain Track Carriers. These carriers are white plastic wheel carriers with metal loop and work smoothly with the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track. Once you have your track and carriers, just add decorative curtains. We offer a variety of curtain patterns for you to choose from or you can purchase curtains that are perfect for your home decor.
READY TO GO
Once you have found your space, installed your curtain track, carriers and curtains, all you need to do when you need an item, is simply pull the curtains back. When you have everything you need to make that big family dinner, pull those curtains closed and your pantry is concealed. We’ve said it before and will say it again - curtain tracks can be used for more than just windows. Check out our other blog posts for more creative ideas!
How many parents use their basement? Some have decided that the basement will be the toy dungeon, where all the legos and matchbox cars can live behind a closed door away from adult feet stepping on them. Other homes have turned the basement into adult space, a tranquil space away from the kids. No matter the use, HGTV tells us that finished basements add value to our homes. Curtain-Tracks is here to help you make this additional space feel like home without breaking the bank.
DROP THAT CEILING
Most basements, even if not fully finished, use a drop ceiling as a cost effective way to cover air ducts and pipes while still giving the homeowner easy access to all that makes a home function. The good news: this solution is budget friendly in many ways. The better news: this solution also allows for easy addition of Curtain-Tracks products. Our 6155 Clamp eliminates the need to drill holes in the ceiling grid, allowing for eventual changes in design without having to figure out how to patch holes.
THE CLAMP PART IS CONNECTED TO THE CARTRIDGE PART
Our drop ceiling clamp allows for easy attachment to the metal parts of the drop ceiling. Our 6151 cartridge allows for the carriers and hooks to connect to the clamp. These cartridges should be placed every ten inches, so do the math before you order, and then do yourself a favor and order one or two more just in case your math skills are rusty. Pick up as much as 98 feet of continuous track with our 6100 Flexible Curtain Track and the rest is easy. You can decide to use the track in a straight line, but you can also curve it by hand to cover that ugly hot water tank, or strange pipe that juts out of the wall at an odd angle.
TO FINISH OR NOT TO FINISH?
Our products might be just the answer you are looking for, even if you are on the fence about completely finishing your basement. If you aren’t sure you will use the space, or you don’t have the budget to go all in, you can still give our products a try. Once attached to the drop ceiling, our curtains, carriers, and cartridges can hide even the ugliest cinder blocks or heating ducts. Our Eclipse Curtains are often featured in our blog posts, and for good reason. They are versatile! They not only block 98% of light (think basement movie theater?) but they also help keep the cold out, and create a cozy space even underground. They are energy efficient and also create a welcoming feeling.
Even if your basement is already finished but perhaps it needs a slight makeover, Curtain-Tracks products can be used to create a more cozy feeling. Our curtains can cover windows to create energy efficiency, or they can cover a whole wall. Or, as we've mentioned in previous blog posts, our curtains can create a moveable wall. No matter the stage of your basement, consider taking the next step to adding more useable and comfortable space to your home by working with Curtain-Tracks.com.
Showers in boats typically aren’t very big, and that’s okay. You don’t need a large space to take a quick shower when out at sea. For these spaces and to help keep the water contained, we recommend our 6100 Flexible Curtain Track. This track works extremely well in small spaces and is sold by the foot. It bends by hand without compromising strength and can be ceiling or mounted on the wall.
Our 6111 Flexible Curtain Track Carriers are white plastic wheel carriers with metal loop, sold individually, and work smoothly with the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track. Add the Recmar 7142 Steel Curtain Hook, steel J shaped curtain hooks that are 1.5 inches long and easily attaches to any carrier with a ring to allow for curtains with holes or grommets, plus shower curtains, and your shower is ready to go. Should you need custom curtains to fit the space, we can make them for you from a wide variety of fabrics and colors.
If you already have a shower in your boat and just need replacement parts, chances are, we have exactly what you are looking for. If you are starting new, you don’t have to overthink a project like this. Our friendly customer service team is here to help you every step of the way. And of course, if you have completed a boat shower project, we’d love to see your photos!
We recently received some great images of an outdoor curtain installation in Oakland, TN from one of our customers and wanted to share them. Jerry C. fabricated his own outdoor curtains from a Sunbrella outdoor fabric. This outdoor fabric will hold up well in the elements, and provides shade while still offering some transparency through the curtains based upon the weave of the fabric. The intent was to provide shade for the covered patio behind their home, and we really like the look of this finished do-it-yourself (DIY) project.
LESS IS MORE
Minimizing possessions and living with less is a pretty popular topic right now. That means getting rid of a lot of “stuff” including excess clothes, shoes, books, kitchenware, furniture, knick knacks, etc., etc., etc. For those courageous souls willing to minimize their possessions and live in a tiny house, we salute you! As you embark on this new lifestyle, we wanted to offer a couple suggestions where our products might help with this transition.
Tiny houses range from 400 sq. ft. - 1,000 sq. ft. and most come with a bedroom/sleeping space, kitchenette, living space and bathroom. That doesn't leave a lot of space for storage. That means tiny house home owners need to get creative. For example, where there is a closet door (even a small one) consider replacing the door with curtains. They take up less space than closet doors when open and our 6100 Flexible Curtain Track is a perfect option. This track can be bent by hand to fit any odd angle. Add6151 Ceiling Cartridges, carriers, your favorite curtain to jazz up the space, and decide which hook you’ll need and you are done!
Tiny houses often come with tiny showers. Adding a shower curtain track (again, we recommend the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track), it is the most versatile track because it is bendable by hand making it easy to fit nearly any space. Add a shower curtain of your choice and you are ready to take a hot shower.
EVEN MORE SPACE
Besides spicing up a closet or adding the finishing touch to a shower, you can add tracks behind the stairs or above kitchen cabinets. Add curtains and curtain tracks to create privacy and separate the living room from other spaces when you have guests staying the night. Our privacy cubicle track can be mounted to the ceiling so it is out of the way during the day, but can create a light and sound reduced area at night when combined with our eclipse fabric. The options are endless.
ARE YOU READY TO MINIMIZE?
Would you consider downsizing to a tiny house or already live in one? We would love to hear about your creative storage solutions!
TIME TO RELAX
We have had the pleasure of working with business owners in a variety of settings. Our products have helped retail establishments create trendy changing rooms, complete the look of a display window, and conceal unsightly beams. Recently, one happy Curtain-Tracks customer and business owner created a massage room in her home and used curtain-tracks and accessories to create the serene space. She used our Extra Heavy Duty Track because it has a thicker top wall for added support and our Large Double Wheel Carrier. She added eclipse curtains for their room darkening and sound absorbing qualities, which are available in a variety of lengths.
In addition to the many businesses we already mentioned, Curtain-Tracks products can be seen in retail establishments such as nail spas. Curtain tracks and sheers can soften the look of a retail space, creating a more serene experience for the customer. Simply add them along a wall in front of spa chairs. For those businesses with drop ceilings like the one in the photo below, there is an easy solution: simply use the 6155 Clamp which eliminates the need to drill holes and allows for easy changes in design. The drop ceiling clamp allows for attachment to the metal parts/frame of the drop ceiling and the 6151 cartridge allows the carriers and hooks to connect to the clamp. Add the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track and you can decide to use the track in a straight line or curve it by hand.
WHAT'S IN STORE IN 2018?
Our products allow business owners to enhance or completely transform their retail space as they would like without costing an arm and a leg. Can we help you and your business in 2018?
TRENDY AND COOL
HGTV has always been one of our favorite go-to's when it comes to the latest style and trends. When we saw their post with this photo of floor to ceiling curtains and curved walls, we just had to share. There are so many great things about every single thing in this picture, we just can’t hide our excitement! Let’s break down everything we love about these curtains.
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Somehow, the curtains in this room design are both a focal point and a back drop. This is the beauty of floor to ceiling curtains. They can blend into the wall if you use similarly colored paint and fabric; they can serve as an attention grabber if you choose opposite colors; and, obviously, they can actually cover windows. For this type of project with the unique curved walls, we love our best selling flexible curtain track.
The beauty of our flexible track is that it can be custom bent (by hand!) to follow even the most unusual curve. This attention to detail helps to create the custom look that prevails through the entire room. Something as simple as this detail can be the finishing touch that pulls everything together.
LOTS OF CURTAINS
One of the outstanding features of this room is the amount of texture from the curtains. In addition to being pristine white (beautiful!), there is a lot of fabric which creates a great deal of texture. With a large amount of fabric, even when the curtains are drawn closed, there is plenty of texture to go around. Our 6100 track is the perfect fit here because it comes in a heavy duty gauge to handle the weight of the curtains.
When choosing your track, you should consider the style as well as the total weight of the curtains. Weight comes not only from the type of fabric, but from the quantity of fabric as well. Many people forget to factor in the height of the curtains, which can add a fair amount of weight that will need to be hung on the track. Our selection of heavy duty tracks can stand up to the challenge.
BEST SELLING FOR A REASON
The 6100 track has so many great qualities, it’s no wonder it is one of our best sellers! It can be used in so many different applications and it can create such a custom look. Visit Curtain-Tracks.com to order yours today. Don’t forget to check out the compatible products at the bottom of the page to finish your project. You’ll need mounting cartridges for every ten inches of length.

DIFFERENT IS GOOD
Over the years we have talked to customers who have used curtain tracks and curtains in a variety of ways. In fact, we have an entire category on our blog dedicated to this very topic. So if you are feeling like you are in a creative rut, keep reading, and we will share some fun uses for our products.
BEDROOMS, BASEMENTS AND GARAGES
Finding another use for a product, other than the one it was originally created for, can be fun and functional. We have had customers use our curtain tracks, hardware and accessories in ways that you wouldn't even imagine and we think the results are pretty fantastic. One such design idea includes using curtains and curtain tracks along a bedroom wall. The floor-to-ceiling lush fabric of the curtains creates a beautiful backdrop that also serves as a headboard and the focus when you walk in the room is immediately drawn to this focal point.
Another Curtain-Tracks customer, Carrie, used the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track to create a sound booth in her basement. With her career taking off and the opportunity to work from home, she wanted to create a sound booth that not only looked good, but also worked well. Her basement has a drop ceiling, so installation was quite easy with the use of drop ceiling clamps. To ensure the curtains would stay closed when she is recording and to help eliminate distractions, she made sure the lead carrier on each panel is a magnetic catch carrier that holds the curtains together with just a bit of overlap, which also helps keep out sound.
Another completely unique use for curtain tracks includes a project that customer, Libby, completed in her garage a while ago. She wanted to create a hockey backstopfor her kids so she used Curtain-Tracks Extra Heavy Duty track and heavy duty trolly, aka super strong carrier, and a durable tarp. Now she has the coolest garage in the neighborhood!
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
These are just a few fun examples of how you can use Curtain-Tracks products for your next project. There are so many other creative uses, including concealing a water heater, adding curtain tracks to a golf cart or creating an art station or art gallery. Have you used our products in a unique way? Tell us all about it!
A FINISHED BASEMENT
One of our very favorite blog posts shares about the benefit of transforming a basement that has drop ceilings simply by adding curtain tracks and curtains. Overall, finishing a basement is two to three times more cost efficient in adding space and value to your home than an actual addition because the overall cost is much less significant. This means refinishing a basement is an affordable way to add living space and value to your home. Added home value aside, finishing a basement so your family will actually spend time in it, can be priceless.
If you already have a drop ceiling, you are well on your way. Now you need to decide where you would like to add your curtain tracks and the purpose the curtains will serve (room divider to create bedroom space?) Using our 6155 Clamp eliminates having to drill holes in the ceiling grid and our 6151 cartridge allows the carriers and hooks to connect to the clamp. The beauty about a drop ceiling is it allows for easy attachment to the metal parts of the drop ceiling and eventual changes in design. Our 6100 flexible curtain track is a sensible choice for a basement project as it can be easily bent by hand if needed to conform to any odd angles.
Once you have your curtain track and accessories in place, you can add curtains that serve to divide a room (i.e. work-out room or craft room?), conceal a storage area or hot water tank, cover windows to create energy efficiency, or they can even cover a whole wall to create a softer, cozy feel to the room. We have a wide variety of curtains to choose from including our Allegro Fabric Curtains which have a slight sheen and a subtle pattern of irregular circles running throughout. These curtains are so durable, hospitals even use them because they are anti-bacterial, machine washable, and 100% flame retardant.
SO MANY USES
Once your project is complete, just think of the things your family can do in this brand new space:
- Slumber Parties
- Game Nights
- Movie Nights
- Football Parties
- Craft and Scrapbook Parties
- Work-Out Space
Have you finished your basement? We would love to see your photos. In fact, if you email them to us at email@example.com, we might just use them on our website or post them on Facebook!
SO MANY STYLES
New windows not only look fantastic, they also add value to a home. There are many styles to choose from including double hung, casement, awning, picture, and one of our personal favorites, the bay window. Bay windows provide more interior space because they protrude out from the house. Oftentimes, they are a combination of windows such as a stationary window with double hung windows on the sides. The most common inside angles are 90, 135 and 150 degrees, though you can find triangular bay windows of two windows set at 120 degrees. A bay window is gorgeous, especially when it has some window accessories, such as sheers or curtains.
MAKING IT LOOK GREAT
We often speak with customers about ways to add curtain tracks and curtains to a bay window. It’s quite simple really: use our 6100 Flexible Curtain Track. This incredibly versatile track is sold by the foot and it allows long continuous lengths for curved or angled applications, but can also be used for straight applications. Made of white PVC with an internal metal spine, it can be installed on a ceiling or wall. It can be bent by hand without compromising strength and is perfect for use on bay windows.
IT’S THE BEST FOR A REASON
The 6100 Flexible Curtain Track is our most popular track for good reason. Not only is it inexpensive, but because it can be bent by hand, it allows you to have complete control of the track location as well as manage the angles. That means that no matter the size or style of your beautiful bay window, this track is the best choice when it comes to hanging curtains.
You probably don’t need to attend an educational seminar on sleep disorders to know that you sleep better in the dark. The production of sleep hormones can be affected by just the light from a child’s night-light. We’ve heard that ideal sleeping conditions are a pitch-dark room set to 67 degrees Fahrenheit. That seems a little chilly to us, but we couldn’t agree more about the light…or lack of light. Unfortunately, most bedroom window treatments do not effectively block enough light to create ideal sleeping conditions.
