When you want to add curtain tracks to a large space, like a wall of windows, as a room divider, or in a conference room, you need multiple tracks. Several of our tracks come in 8' foot or 12' sections but you can lay multiple tracks end to end for a seamless track for your space.
STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW
Installing multiple curtain tracks is definitely possible and will look great when finished if you use the right drapery hardware, tools, and a level. Our 88001 Privacy Cubicle Curtain Track, an aluminum track with silver satin finish that is available in 6', 8', 12' and 16' sections, and the 4108 Bendable I-Beam Curtain Track, available in silver or black anodized aluminum I-Beam track with satin finish and comes in 8' lengths, can be spliced end to end with 4128 ceiling splicer or 4130 wall splicer.
ALIGN YOUR PRINCIPALS
If you are aligning tracks without splicers, the tracks need to be fully aligned to minimize the seam and reduce the carriers from catching on a seam when in use. If at all possible, placing the seam of the curtain tracks as close to the middle of the space as possible where the curtains meet will help minimize the carriers catching on the track.
THE FINISHING TOUCH
Often when a room is being designed, top priority is given to the flooring and furniture. While these aspects are incredibly important when designing a room, we would strongly suggest careful consideration be given to the windows and window treatments. We encounter rooms of all shapes and sizes that look *almost* incredible. The problem is, the windows are often overlooked or are given very little thought. There may be a small valence or perhaps there are some curtains that don't hold the "wow factor", leaving the room to look GOOD but not GREAT. We wanted to share below a variety of images of rooms that we think look pretty fantastic and definitely catch your eye. Let us know what you think of these photos in the comments, or send us an email with images of your incredible rooms and we may just share them in a future blog post.
The term modern is often used when referring to a design style with clean lines. Modern design style also has a simple color palette and oftentimes incorporates materials such as metal, steel and glass. For those who love this style, they enjoy simplicity and often embrace a "less is more" mentality. According to House Beautiful, "White, beiges, and even some shades of black are the main color palette for modern design, but it can incorporate color as an accent, so long as it leans towards earthy. Also, "Modern design favors open-concept floor plans."
Creating a media room in a home with this design style can be done. We suggest mounting the television on the wall and hiding any cords to create a clean look. Although modern design encourages natural light, it is still possible to add window treatments that are neutral and simple. After all, a true media room is only complete when you can darken the room!
When it comes to adding curtains, a homeowner with modern interior design would embrace a ceiling mount curtain track over a curtain rod. Curtain rods often have finials that are intended to draw attention and stand out while a ceiling mount curtain track, like the 32124 Low Profile Ceiling Mount Curtain Track is much less obvious. The 32124 track has a low profile. Mounting brackets are not required and this track can be mounted end to end with additional tracks if a longer length is needed. This is an aluminum curtain track with silver satin finish and is intended for lower ceilings which many modern homes have. If your home has higher ceilings, we recommend 6200 Heavy Duty I-Beam Track. This track can be ceiling or wall mounted and is available in 8 foot length plus 4 foot length or two 6 foot pieces (12 feet total). It is a silver mill finished aluminum curtain track featuring an I Beam Configuration.
These are just two tracks that would work for a project like this. We have many more to choose from and our customer service team is happy to help you make the perfect decision. You can create a media room and still maintain a modern design. It can be done!
AGAINST A WALL
We often talk about ceiling mount curtain tracks and how they are designed to be mounted to the ceiling or any other horizontal surface. Depending on the track, it can be screwed directly into the ceiling, attached to the ceiling using specific hardware, or it can even be recessed into the ceiling. But we don't just carry ceiling tracks, we also have a robust selection of wall mount curtain tracks - and they are not all the same.
Some wall mount tracks like the 5400 curtain track and 3112 plastic track can be mounted flush to the wall. These tracks only need screws and there is no need for any additional mounting brackets or hardware. The 5400 Wall Mount Track is available in 3-foot sections and has mounting holes every 9”. These tracks can even be overlapped for longer applications. What makes this track so fantastic is it can be bent to a 15” radius horizontally, and vertically 5” per 36-inch section. The way to do this is to heat the track in hot water first and then slightly bend it for arched and bent installations making it perfect for your project.
The 3112 Wall Mount Track (pictured below) is made of PVC plastic and is available in 8-foot sections. This track allows for mounting holes to be easily drilled during installation and is also flexible for arched applications. This versatile track is available in a variety of colors including white, brown, gray, and black.
Others tracks like the 84003 or 4108 track both use wall brackets that enable for a space between the wall and the track. The 84003 track also offers double wall brackets which allow for a pair of wall mounted drapery tracks to run parallel. This use is common with sheers on one track and curtains on the second.
No matter the project, we have the largest selection of curtain tracks giving you options when it comes to your curtain track project. Check out other articles on our Blog to learn more about wall mount curtain tracks or reach out to our customer service team with your questions: 888-465-0274.
Clawfoot and stand alone tubs are making a comeback as homeowners tackle bathroom projects during COVID. Large soaker tubs are being ripped out and replaced with smaller stylish, or vintage tubs that don't take up as much space but still provide a relaxing soak. (If you are looking for the very best bathtub available, be sure to check out these selections from Business Insider.) One common dilemma with this type of remodel is what to do if the beautiful tub also doubles as a shower? How do you keep the water in the tub?
One solution to this common issue is adding curtain tracks around the tub. Matthew M. from Washington DC recently contacted us for a similar project for his clawfoot tub and he installed the 4108 Bendable I Beam Curtain Track. This is a Silver or Black anodized aluminum track with a satin finish. Available in 8 foot sections, it can be hand bent making it perfect for this project. Ceiling or Wall Mount. This track works well with 4121 nylon wheel carriers or 3312 nylon block carriers, and 4126 ceiling bracket or our 3082 snap in retainer. Once the track was completely installed, Matthew added the Shower Shield Curtains in Shadow which are antimicrobial, machine washable and have stain and odor release properties, to complete the look.

A recent visit to a spa showed several safety measures in place: masks worn by all, hand sanitizing stations, socially distanced markers on the floor, and plexiglass dividers at the main check-in desk. All these precautions that now seem so normal, made the experience no less enjoyable. In fact, it was quite pleasant having the opportunity to visit a spa, safely.
An observation at this particular spa was the waiting area near the hair salon. The space boasted floor-to-ceiling windows that allowed natural light to stream through from space to space. The open floor plan was welcoming and allowed guests to see many different areas from the front door, including a small shop selling products, the front desk, and a hair salon.
On the large windows we noticed the subtle curtain tracks, carriers, and curtain sheers. Simple. Elegant. Beautiful. While the curtains did provide a touch of privacy, the main function was to soften the look of the lobby while also allowing light to reach the adjoining spaces.
Even with all the social distancing guidelines, the waiting area was still extremely comfortable with seating areas placed at 6’ distances. The simple touch of adding curtain tracks and sheer panels to the windows in the waiting area was just another welcoming factor. It created a high-end, elegant feel. A simple addition with a big impact.
You don’t have to go “over the top” when designing your space, whether that be a spa, business or home. Curtain-Tracks can help you create a welcoming space that you, and your guests, will love.
