Curtain-Tracks.com is a leading supplier of light duty curtain tracks for various applications in motorhomes, travel trailers, campers and recreational vehicles (RVs). The uses vary, but our curtain tracks are commonly used for window curtains, shower curtains, bunk curtains, and divider/privacy curtains to provide temporary seclusion in an open floor plan. Our curtain and drapery hardware can be used in RV and trailer projects ranging from replacement of broken or missing parts in modern RVs to fully outfitting restored vintage trailers.
As summer winds down, countless students are packing their possessions and preparing for their first year away at a college or university. With that experience for many, it includes moving into a dormitory (dorm) and taking up residence with a roommate. Regardless of whether that roommate is a friend from high school or a stranger met on dorm “move in day,” there will certainly be times when most students will crave some privacy. Dorm rooms typically offer very little of that precious commodity we call solitude, but Curtain-Tracks.com may be able to help. With the simple addition of a ceiling mounted curtain track, a divider curtain can be installed from floor to ceiling. The track can be mounted to the ceiling with a few screws or by the use of clamps that leave no holes at all if the ceiling is a drop/acoustic ceiling with tile suspended in a grid system.
Lately, we’ve been thinking big. Really big. Like, arena big. These thoughts took us all the way to Kansas, where there is no place like…Wichita State University (WSU). We were happy to outfit WSU’s Charles Koch Arena with curtains, curtain tracks, and drapery hardware worthy of the Shockers. Curtains probably aren’t the first thing that springs to mind when you think of heading to an arena to watch a basketball game or concert, or to a stadium to watch football, but they can be very useful in these venues.
Every man deserves his own Man Cave! That one spot in the house that is all his, where there are no flower arrangements, decorative pillows, or doilies. A room where bigger is better when it comes to flat screen TVs and stereo speakers. An oasis where neon signs and auto parts store calendars qualify as artwork and your favorite team’s uniform sets your color palette. This bunker serves to grant you a reprieve from your day to day responsibilities, where sports and cars, music and the great outdoors are the topics of choice while chicken wings and pizza are common fare. And it serves as a haven to your foosball or air hockey table, pinball machine, or beer can collection, since these are crown jewels in a man cave yet not welcomed in any other room in the house.
We hear a lot about curb appeal and how it is important for homeowners looking to sell their home. Realtors and even HGTV stress the importance of an attractive entryway, nice landscaping, and making sure even the littlest details are take care of, like the paint isn’t chipping around the front door.
GAINING NEW CUSTOMERS
Having nice curb appeal is also important for store owners and restaurant owners. According to the National Restaurant Association, there are 1+ million restaurants in the United States. That means restaurants have A LOT of competition. And while the quality of the food is of the upmost importance, with restaurants on every corner, getting new customers in the front door of the restaurant in the first place can be a challenge. This is when curb appeal is especially important.
We found this image of a restaurant owner who we think, did a great job with their curb appeal. Not only do they have welcoming bistro tables outside the restaurant, they also have an awning to give their establishment a quaint look. To top it all off, their windows have fantastic, eye-catching patterned curtains hung on curtain tracks. We are unsure if these curtains are on a ceiling mount curtain track or a wall mount track, or if they are plastic or aluminum. Regardless, the end result is very nice!
If you are a restaurant or retail owner and are looking for ways to create a great first impression for new customers, as well as returning ones, we suggest taking a fresh look at the outside of your establishment. Look at it with wide open eyes as if you were looking at it for the first time. What would you think? Is it welcoming? Then ask yourself, “What can I do to enhance the curb appeal?” Whether that be new signage, fresh landscaping or curtains in your windows, small changes can mean big results with customers.
As it turns out, 2020 is the year spent at home. Hunkering down and taking precautions means more families are spending time outside. If you are spending hours and hours in the great outdoors, you may as well make the most of your outdoor space. That's just what one Curtain-Tracks customer from Centreville, MD, decided to do with her patio and the result is fantastic! This family already had a beautifully built pergola but they decided to enhance the look by adding a few different products from Curtain-Tracks, including the 3120 Heavy Duty Curtain Track in Silver, 7127 Stainless Steel End Stops, 7140 Large Double Wheel Carrier and 7142 Stainless Steel Curtain Hooks.
The pergola was already white so they simply painted their 3120 Heavy Duty Curtain Track white to match. This track is made of anodized aluminum and has thicker top wall for added support. Perfect when using on tall ceilings or pergola! This is a 12 foot track but is cut to 8 feet and 4 feet, or two 6 foot sections for shipping. They also used the 7127 End Stops. End Stops are used to close the ends of the tracks so the carriers don't slip off. They also have another use: you can use two end stops to hold a curtain carrier in place by pinning the carrier between the end stops. Doing this will keep a curtain closed at one end. Genius!
TIME TO RELAX
Once the track was installed, this customer added blue and white striped curtains that can be pulled closed for privacy but can also protect against the elements, like wind and afternoon sun. The curtains look fantastic with the landscaping and create a finished look to the patio. This patio looks so inviting, we just want to sidle up to that bar!
Whether you are looking to add curtains to your pergola, screened in room or front porch, the Curtain-Tracks team is here to help bring your vision to reality. If you have completed a project using some of our products, we would love to see your pictures. We just might share them on social media and our blog. You can send your project pictures to: email@example.com.
Enjoy the summer and stay well!
We confess we are late in getting this posted, as the images were shared some time back, but better late than never. The husband and wife duo Scott and Kim of Yellow Brick Home, a very popular home interior design blog, have become repeat customers of Curtain-Tracks.com. In a mid year project focused on the interior redesign of a bedroom, they again chose to utilize curtains hung from ceiling mounted tracks. The simple silver curtain track offers a nice contrast to the colors of the curtains and the walls, and provided the functionality the creative pair was seeking.
Some of our customers have wondered why we don't sell cord-drawn curtains? Hand-drawn curtains have many advantages over cord-drawn, especially for the uses our customers have for the curtain tracks they order from us. Check out the many reasons that make hand-drawn such a popular option for curtains.
In response to our call for pictures in this month's email newsletter, Tim W. from Bangor, ME was the first to respond. Thanks Tim! He shared the picture below showing the new curtains he added to his VW Westfalia Camper (also known as a Westy). Tim used the 3096 Wrinkle Band and 4040 Wrinkle Band Hooks for his project, along with the 3050 Eye Slides to replace some missing from his VW Westfalia curtain track system.
KEEP IT PRIVATE
The HIPAA Privacy Rule “establishes national standards to protect individuals' medical records and other personal health information. The Rule requires appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of personal health information and sets limits and conditions on the uses and disclosures that may be made of such information without patient authorization.” While HIPAA ensures the confidentiality of a patient’s health records, privacy curtains ensure physical privacy. That’s where Curtain-Tracks can help.
Our privacy curtains can be found in hospitals, emergency rooms, clinics, nursing homes, and physician offices across the country. Healthcare providers turn to Curtain-Tracks for the high-quality construction, safety, style, and affordability of our privacy curtains as well as the exceptional customer service we provide. Our curtains are constructed with a triple-thick 1 ½ inch header sewn with a double-needle Safe-T-Lock stitch. With the constant opening and closing of the curtains, this triple thick header makes them nearly tear-proof.
All privacy cubicle curtains are constructed using fabrics that pass NFPA 701 testing, the most stringent national standard. Depending on the application of the privacy curtains, most fire codes require the use of mesh at the top 20 inches of the curtain. Our curtains feature ½ inch flame retardant mesh which meets NFPA requirements and this mesh is available in 11 colors, although white or ivory are used most often. If you prefer curtains without mesh, they can be made without. Whatever you decide to order for your healthcare organization, rest assured that all of our curtains only ship after they have passed an extensive 7-point inspection process.
ON THE CEILING
Privacy curtains are often mounted to the ceiling using the 88001 Privacy Cubicle Track, an aluminum track with a silver satin finish. This track is available in 6-foot, 8-foot, 12-foot, and 16-foot sections. For larger spaces, sections of the 88001 track can be spliced together for longer applications.
Whatever the space, we have the tracks and hospital curtains to provide the privacy you need.
HEART OF AMERICA
Truck drivers are the heart of America. Transporting goods across the country every day, they are dedicated to their jobs. Many truck drivers have long routes that require them to sleep in the sleeper cab, or sleeper berth, of their truck so this space becomes their home away from home. This space isn't very large and is limited when it comes to storage. However, there is often room for a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and even a tv. Separating the space with curtain tracks and curtains is a solution that allows truckers to not have to think about work 24/7, especially when they are trying to relax after a long day on the road or would like to get some shut eye.
To divide the sleeper cab from the driver's seat, the 5400 CurtainMate Track can be added. This track works well on semi trucks and is just three feet in length but can be joined end to end for a custom fit. We know no two trucks are exactly the same so this track can be bent when it’s warmed in hot water so it fits the space perfectly. The 5400 CurtainMate Track is also our most narrow track which means it protrudes less than a half inch away from where it is mounted so it allows very little light to shine into the sleeper cab when the curtains are pulled closed.
KEEP THE LIGHT OUT
Adding custom curtains allows you to choose the perfect fabric for your space. We carry flame retardant fabrics which meet FMVSS 302 standards. Plus, they have superior stain and odor release properties and are machine washable or can be dry cleaned. Plus, when you have custom curtains made, you can select Black Out Lining which will help keep the light out and also eliminate noise.
We want to thank truck drivers everywhere for a job well done. If our team at Curtain-Tracks can help make your truck a bit more comfortable, please let us know. If you would like to order custom curtains for your truck (or RV or boat), simply click here!
Patients demand privacy, as well they should. So as new acute care hospitals are being built, they are accommodating these patient requests by building all private patient rooms. As older hospitals try to keep pace, they are renovating semi-private rooms to private rooms. But even in private rooms with a solid door, additional privacy is needed when the door is opened by a doctor, nurse, or visitor.
Curtain tracks have long been a familiar sight in hospitals and even with the emergence of private rooms, they are still needed around the patient's bed. When the curtains are closed, these tracks and curtains allow for privacy when the door to the room is open. Oftentimes, curtain tracks are mounted to the ceiling on just one side or 3/4 of the way around the patient's bed. A frequently used curtain track is our 88001 Privacy Cubicle Track, an aluminum track with silver satin finish and is available in 6 foot, 8 foot, 12 foot and 16 foot sections.
OPEN AND CLOSED
The curtains that hang on these tracks are privacy curtains and they are often in soothing colors and patterns. They are made of top quality construction with a triple thick 1.5 inch header reinforced with a middle layer of nylon mesh at the top. These curtains have Safe-T-Stitching which locks in hems and seams and the grommets are rustproof nickel plated brass. Privacy curtains are 100% flame retardant per NFPA #701 standards and are also, BONUS: machine washable up to 160 degrees F! These privacy cubicle curtains not only look great, they also hold up in the toughest hospital. Our privacy curtains are available in any height but be sure to include ceiling height and the length of the curtain track when requesting a quote.
