You have just installed new curtains, but the last thing that you want is for those curtains to become dirty quickly. This can happen if people constantly grab the ends of the curtains to open or close them. There is a better solution to this. Use curtain batons or wands to allow for curtains to be opened without hands touching the material.

TIME TO RELAX
We have had the pleasure of working with business owners in a variety of settings. Our products have helped retail establishments create trendy changing rooms, complete the look of a display window, and conceal unsightly beams. Recently, one happy Curtain-Tracks customer and business owner created a massage room in her home and used curtain-tracks and accessories to create the serene space. She used our Extra Heavy Duty Track because it has a thicker top wall for added support and our Large Double Wheel Carrier. She added eclipse curtains for their room darkening and sound absorbing qualities, which are available in a variety of lengths.
In addition to the many businesses we already mentioned, Curtain-Tracks products can be seen in retail establishments such as nail spas. Curtain tracks and sheers can soften the look of a retail space, creating a more serene experience for the customer. Simply add them along a wall in front of spa chairs. For those businesses with drop ceilings like the one in the photo below, there is an easy solution: simply use the 6155 Clamp which eliminates the need to drill holes and allows for easy changes in design. The drop ceiling clamp allows for attachment to the metal parts/frame of the drop ceiling and the 6151 cartridge allows the carriers and hooks to connect to the clamp. Add the 6100 Flexible Curtain Track and you can decide to use the track in a straight line or curve it by hand.
WHAT'S IN STORE IN 2018?
Our products allow business owners to enhance or completely transform their retail space as they would like without costing an arm and a leg. Can we help you and your business in 2018?
GETTING SOME AIR
Curtain tracks are used in a variety of places: homes, hospitals, clinics, RVs, boats… we could go on and on. But one other place you will see curtain tracks that you may not have previously thought about, are in airplanes.
WHERE IN THE WORLD?
You may think, “Where in the world would there be curtain tracks in an airplane? They certainly aren’t on the windows.” Well, depending on the airline, you will see curtain tracks separating the main cabin from the business class seats and you will also notice them at the back of the airplane separating the main cabin and restrooms from the galley. The galley is the area where flight attendants prepare drinks and snacks. On a particularly long flight, they may draw these curtains closed to allow them some privacy from the passengers. Think of it as their “break room”. This is a fairly small space so the actual amount of curtain track needed is minimal but the system is the same that you will find in other places - simply a curtain track, carriers, and curtains. A couple tracks we suggest for this use are our 3120 Heavy Duty Curtain Track or our 6100 Flexible Curtain Track. For curtains that will help block sound, we suggest our Eclipse curtains.
FIRST AND SECOND
For the curtain track and curtains separating the main cabin from business class, oftentimes this isn’t a solid curtain but rather a mesh curtain that allows flight attendants to see the entire length of the plane even when the curtain is drawn closed. However the purpose is the same, when closed, it allows for added privacy. You will notice that the curtains separating the cabins as well as in the back of the plane have a curtain tieback that holds the curtains open while the flight is taking off and landing. When the flight attendants want to close the curtains, they simply release the tieback and pull the curtains closed.
TAKE A LOOK AROUND
The next time you fly somewhere (and we hope it’s somewhere fun!), take a look around the plane. If you see curtains somewhere else besides where we mentioned, tell us about it. Better yet, send us a picture. But be sure to only take a picture when the Fasten Seat Belt sign isn't illuminated!
As the popularity of Tesla electric vehicles increases and more of these cars hit the road, their owners are conscious of the challenges that come with the need to charge their vehicles regularly in their own garages. There are a number of products that have come to market that allow the unused cord of the charger to be hung when not in use. These products serves more like a cord rack where the cord can be coiled on the wall between uses.
We are pleased to share a project undertaken by a Tesla owner and Curtain-Tracks.com customer. Peter L. from Newberg, Oregon set out to tackle a challenge as he envisioned his DIY project. He wanted to create a solution that kept his charging cords off the ground during and after use. In addition, he preferred to keep the cord off his cars when charging as well. The position of his charging outlet made it a bit more challenging when charging in the garage bay that was not adjacent to the charging outlet.
In addition to preventing any potential car damage with the cord being drug across his cars, a suspended cord kept the cord off the floor. By keeping the cord dry and clean, it makes it a safer and tidier task to handle the cord before and after charging each day. By keeping the cord off the floor, it also reduces the wear on the cord that could result in damage to the insulation over time. This also improves the safety of long term use of the charger cable.
Peter envisioned a track and roller system that could be used to suspend the cord and moved around the perimeter of his garage to allow easy charging in two of the bays in his three car garage. One of his design steps included consulting with one of the knowledgeable reps at Curtain-Tracks.com to determine which product would best meet his needs for an “L” shaped track that included a 90 degree turn. Following the advice given, Peter opted to use the Industrial Track components to easily install and sturdy track system that would allow a trolley to easily move over the full length of the track while supporting a retractable tool balancer via a standard carrier.
The video below does a terrific job of outlining the products he used for this Tesla charging cable management project, the steps he took during design and installation, and a review of how well it works to meet his needs. We really appreciate the effort this took to document the project, and highlighting the products Curtain-Tracks.com provided to assist with his project.
In order to replicate this exact project, the following industrial curtain track components would be needed:
Qty 1 - 16CT - Industrial 16 Gauge Curved Track - 90 Degree Bend
Qty 2 - 16RT-96 - Industrial 16 Gauge Track - 8 feet
Qty 8 - 16TBWMU - Industrial Track Bracket - Wall Mount Up
Qty 1 - 16SR - Industrial Trolley - 1.5 in. Steel Plate
Qty 2 - 16ES - Industrial End Stop
Keep in mind that your application may be better served by mounting the track system to the ceiling instead of the wall as shown here. That would change the components to be ordered, substituting ceiling mount brackets instead of wall brackets. You may also notice that a lighter duty track was used lower on the wall to keep the hanging cable against the wall. Any number of tracks could work here, but we would suggest the 3120 track as a good option, with a 7120 carrier and 7127 end stops.
Thanks to Peter for sharing his project. We hope that this project may inspire other customers to think outside the box about how to leverage off-the-shelf hardware to tackle challenges. Ten Drapery Track Installation Tips:
IT'S A SNAP!
What exactly is snap tape? This isn't an uncommon question and quite frankly, we get asked it often. In fact, we have wriiten a popular blog post on this very topic sharing instructions on how you can add snap tape to your curtain panels.
The long and short of it is snap tape comes in a roll and is made with 1-inch wide polyester webbing and nickel plated brass snaps spaced 4.25 inches apart. It can be sewn directly onto a curtain you have purchased or custom made curtains and is especially popular on ripple fold draperies. The benefit of snap tape is it allows for easy removal of the curtains from the drapery hardware and eliminates the need to remove any hooks which is great when you are wanting to clean the curtains. It can also create a full look with your curtains when it is used with our 84106 carrier. If you just love the ripple fold look when your curtains are closed, the 84106 Wheeled Carrier- Corded for Ripple Fold is a fantastic choice. When attached to the snaps, this system will hold the ripples at desired uniform spacing. When it comes to curtain tracks, check out the 84003 & 84004.
For step by step instructions on using snap Tape on your curtain panels, check out our blog post! We are also always eager to help! You can contact our friendl;y customer service team with any questions at 1-888-465-0274.
