Curtain-Tracks.com had previously announced its affiliation with the Man Cave Crew, a new home improvement television show targeting design makeover projects designed specifically for men. Production continues and the first episode should air by the end of the year.
Here is a preview of the first episode of the Man Card Crew home improvement show that should be begin airing in the Chicagoland area soon. Curtain-Tracks.com provided the curtain track hardware and curtain panels to conceal wall shelving units and overhead storage shelves suspended in the center of the room above the main light fixture, allowing for an interior look despite being a garage. By covering these storage areas, the designers can hide what is typically an unsightly mess on storage shelves with a simple and inexpensive curtains option. The use of curtains also provides flexibility since they don't take up the room a standard door or wall may require and provide easy access to the full span of the shelves. Small curtain panels also provide accents along the back wall, helping to soften the look and make it feel more like a den than a garage.
Our Wall Mount Curtain Track selection is one of the best around and our customers especially love the Recmar 5400 CurtainMate Curtain Track. The 5400 CurtainMate is a wall mount track and is available in 3 foot sections. The shorter sections of track make it especially useful in RVs that have limited space. However, if you need more track for longer lengths, the track can be joined end to end. The 5400 CurtainMate Track is narrow and only protrudes less than .5 inch away from where it is mounted. This is important because it allows very little light to shine into the RV when the curtains are closed, meaning better sleep for the family!
The CurtainMate Curtain Track has mounting holes spaced every 9 inches and can even be bent to a 15 inch radius horizontally, and vertically 5 inches per 36 inch section. To bend it slightly, all you need to do is heat the track in hot water and bend it gently. It is available in a variety of colors, including: white, brown, gray, black, tan, dark desert and dark slate and works well with 3070 snap carriers (available in white or black) and 5034 end caps, available in the same colors as the CurtainMate track.
When it comes to all of our curtains tracks and accessories, you can expect a high quality product and exceptional, personalized customer service that is second to none. Let us help you with your next project, whether in an RV, truck, boat, workplace or home.

INDUSTRIAL CURTAIN WALLS
We often write articles on the functionality of curtain walls in open office spaces but curtain walls can also be effective in industrial spaces. They are used in a variety of settings including auto & body shops, manufacturing plants, warehouses, stadiums, welding shops, and even churches. They are retractable so when pulled closed, they create a partition and when pulled back, they create an open space. We work with many business that use curtain walls for noise reduction, to contain fumes and dust when working on specific projects, or to create a separate area for storage and supplies. When you use industrial curtain walls, the options are endless!
SO MANY BENEFITS
Industrial curtain walls aren't just functional... they offer so many other benefits! They are resistant to high temperatures, are UV resistant, Hydrostatic resistant, and cold crack resistant. There are also flame resistance options available as well as reinforced vinyl options. Each curtain wall is made to meet your custom needs and include grommet tops and weighted bottoms. We stand by our products and offer a 1-year manufacturer warranty on curtain construction, plus, our curtain walls pass the NFPA 701 Large- & Small-Scale standard. If you have any questions, we encourage you to Contact Us. If you are ready to move forward with your industrial curtain walls, simply REQUEST A QUOTE.
NO MORE PROCRASTINATION
Americans are staying home more and while they are hunkering down, they are tackling those long-awaited home improvement projects. Contractors are busier than ever and home improvement stores are bustling with DIYers. In fact, according to the Wall Street Journal, "Daily foot traffic to Home Depot stores since April has been running at least 35% above last year’s, according to Unacast Inc., which tracks location data from 25 million cellphones on any given day. In 26 states, traffic doubled following a surge in late May." If this sounds like you, read on because we have some easy and affordable updates that you can complete all on your own.
Swap out those old dated curtain rods for seamless curtain tracks and freshen up the room with new curtains. Curtain tracks, unlike rods, can be mounted to the ceiling or the wall and the smooth track allows for seamless opening and closing due to the curtain carriers or glides. These carriers help the curtains smoothly - and quietly - glide along the track, unlike large curtain rings that are often found on curtain rods. Curtain tracks are also extremely durable as they are affixed in various places along the track. With curtain rods, the bracket can easily pull out of the wall causing you to take on a whole new project: drywall repair.
Studies show that the average person spends at least 30 minutes in the bathroom every day. If that sounds accurate to you, maybe it's time to switch out that tired curtain rod and update your bathroom by adding a ceiling mount curtain track, drop chains and a sleek new shower curtain? For many of the same reasons listed above, curtain tracks are super sturdy and they look great, plus they create a sleek, modern and fresh look to your bathroom.
Curtain tracks aren't just for living rooms and bathrooms, they can be used outside. Adding curtain tracks and weatherproof curtains to your porch or pergola can help protect against the hot afternoon sun and windy days and they also allow for privacy. Some great products for a project like this include: the 3120 Heavy Duty Curtain Track in Silver, the 7127 Stainless Steel End Stops, 7140 Large Double Wheel Carriers and 7142 Stainless Steel Curtain Hooks.
TAKE ON THAT PROJECT
Each of these projects can be completed easily and quickly. So whether one, or all, of these projects are on your Honey-Do list, we have you covered. For the best selection of curtain tracks, curtains, hardware and accessories, look no further than www.curtain-tracks.com.
LET THE SUN SHINE IN
Did you know the sun shines approximately 237 days a year in Florida? People travel from all over the world to visit the Sunshine State because they want to see the sun! Exposure to sunlight increases the brain’s release of the hormone serotonin which helps boost moods. So for those who live in states where the sun doesn't shine quite as much as we would like, a visit to the south can help. But more often than not, when in Florida, especially during the summer months, the sun brings glaring light and excessive heat.
The Florida hotel where we recently stayed was designed in a way that a.) allowed guests to enjoy the gorgeous sun, but b.) covered the windows with sheer curtains to keep the glare and heat at bay. One of the areas of the hotel where we really noticed this solution was in the common spaces; the elevator areas on each floor. One particular set of elevators was located on the west side of the building and as the sun set each night, the light was pretty intense. The hotel had a wall of floor to ceiling windows in this area because they wanted their guests to enjoy the gorgeous view, but what they did was cover the wall of windows with sheer curtains. These curtains allowed guests to still enjoy the view without shielding their eyes, but also helped to keep the heat from the afternoon sun out of the area.
This hotel used ceiling mount curtain tracks for these areas as well as wands that could easily open and close the curtains on days when it is overcast and in the evenings. It's a great solution that allows the perfect amount of natural light into the hotel. Well done, hotel interior designers!
How many of you view online photos to help determine which hotel room you’ll book? It’s human nature to want to see as much as you can before you spend hard earned money on an experience. Have you ever noticed that many of the online hotel pictures include the lobby? Go ahead, do a quick Google search. We’ll be right here when you get back.
So, why do the hotels share these types of lobby pictures wih us? It’s not like we will be spending very much time in the lobby after check-in. But, it does serve as our first impression. And in the service industry, like hotels, first impressions matter. Simple and updated decor are must-haves in a hotel lobby to impress guests who choose their hotel, and more importantly, envourage a return visit to the hotel.
THINK OUTSIDE THE WINDOW
One simple strategy for adding an element of design and decor to a hotel lobby is by adding curtains. We really need to break away from the notion that drapes are only for windows, because our products can be used for so much more! Once you break out of that window box, the possibilities just keep coming. Maybe you want to put a backdrop behind the check-in desk or around the concierge desk? What about a subtle division between two areas in the lobby or two meeting rooms? Fabric as decoration has been used for years but continues to be a great and often overlooked option.
If you’ve read our previous blog posts, you’ve heard us mention how great curtains can be for adding depth to a space. There is something about layering curtains against a wall but behind furniture that gives a space a sophisticated, finished look. It creates interest for the eye, and makes an overall appealing first impression for hotels.
To create depth with curtains, first you’ll need a reliable track like our 42124 ceiling mount track. We think a ceiling mounted track makes a lot of sense when using curtains in non-window situations because it gives you the flexibility of hanging them away from a wall. Screw the track into a stud in the ceiling, and the track will be able to handle a fair amount of weight from very luxurious curtains. We really love the 42124 ceiling mounted track because it doesn’t require any mounting hardware; the screws are put in directly through the track.
Once you have the length of track for the space, you’ll want to do some math. You’ll need to measure the space you want to cover and multiply by 2 or 3 to determine how much fabric you want for your curtains. The higher the number you multiply by, the fuller the curtains. We like to believe the fuller, the better when it comes to creating a high-end look. We really like our shadow cube curtains for a contemporary, sleek look. This is especially important for hotel lobbies who often try to create a high end feel.
What combination of curtains and hardware do you like best? Check us out at www.curtain-tracks.com and create the hotel lobby that will make a great first impression!
NO MORE COOKIE CUTTERS
When it comes to building a house, builders are offering more choices for floor plans, exterior design and finishes. Oftentimes, these new houses have an open concept first floor allowing light to stream in from all of the windows or they have unique sloped ceilings. These new homes can be fabulous in so many ways but you just might have to put some extra thought into how you accessorize.
While we adore houses with character, some pose some decorating challenges. First, when it comes to hanging drapery from large two story windows, you need to consider the weight of fabric your curtain tracks can handle. We recommend our 6260 curtain track. This track can stand the weight of heavy curtains and is tough enough to handle frequent opening and closing. It comes in 12 foot sections that have to be cut into either two 6-foot sections, or one 8-foot and one 4-foot section for shipping and can be mounted to the wall or ceiling.
DON’T FALL DOWN A SLIPPERY SLOPE
When it comes to hanging curtains on a ceiling that is sloped, you might think you don’t have any available decorating options. Think again! While sloped and slanted ceilings can pose decorating challenges, all hope is not lost. Our ceiling-mounted curtains tracks for sloped ceilings are the perfect solution.
A previous blog post offers this solution: “There are some things to consider when planning to install curtain tracks for sloped ceilings. You can, of course, install the track directly into the slope of the ceiling. You will then have to make a choice about the curtain panel – do you leave it in a rectangular shape and have the bottom hem follow the angle of the ceiling? Or do you buy a very long panel and cut it so that it fits the space provided? Either is acceptable, but both have drawbacks. Transforming your rectangular curtain into a parallelogram is easy, but will leave an opening near the floor and increase the perception that the room is off kilter. Trimming a corner of a long curtain to fit will create a dramatic look, but opening the panel becomes tricky as the longer side of the panel will pool on the floor when moved to the shorter part of the ceiling.”
ONE MORE IDEA
Another idea is to use our 88001 Privacy Cubicle Track. Simply suspend the track to make it level. Check out our suspension parts which are compatible with 88001. They allow you to install the track on a sloped ceiling using suspension tubing. This will be required every three to four feet until you get to the bottom of the slope. You might see this design solution in lofts or stores that have extremely high ceilings.

A LITTLE PEACE AND QUIET
If you follow the Curtain-Tracks blog, you have heard us mention our Eclipse curtains. These curtains are wonderful in so many ways and can be used in a variety of settings. Most often, we talk about how they are fantastic in bedrooms where they block 98% of light, and reduce sounds from outside. These curtains are so effective at what they do, they are used in hotel rooms all over the world, in truck cabs, RVs, boats and cargo ships. We are sure you have seen these amazing curtains in several places!
ONLY THE BEST
These curtains aren’t just popular because they are functional. The Eclipse curtain fabric that we carry are simply the best of the best. They are machine-washable, flame-retardant, and available in over 25 colors so you are sure to find the curtains perfect for your space. They are also energy conserving, saving you money down the road.
Eclipse curtains have nickel-plated brass grommets every six inches (or you can use snap tape) so they require a hook and a carrier like our two-wheel carrier with hook. Hanging these curtains from a ceiling mounted track like the 88001 Privacy Cubicle Curtain Track, will maximize the perks of these curtains (light blocking, sound absorbing, energy efficient, etc.) by creating a floor-to-ceiling virtual wall.
HOW MUCH CURTAIN?
Before ordering, decide how you want to have your curtains look when the project is completed. For placement, if mounting on the ceiling, first decide how far out from the wall you would like your track to be. If you love the look of full curtains, multiply the length of the track by 0.6 and add this to the original track length. This is your curtain width. If you want even more fullness in your curtains, double the length of the track for your curtain width. You then will need to measure from the track to where you want the curtain to fall. This measurement becomes your curtain length. Confused? No problem! Contact us and we can help.
Create a sanctuary in your bedroom and get the sleep you deserve, and need, by adding Eclipse curtains. Not sure what color will work best? Contact our friendly customer service team and we will send you samples. Call us at 888-434-7444 so we can help you make it happen.
